Mathew POV
I have no idea what to expect today at school. After what happened on Friday night at the party, or after what I saw for that matter, I tried to get something out of Conner about what had happened. He remained frozen for a little while before he just kind of left without any explanation. I tried texting him over the weekend a few times but he just kept saying he was too tired and confused to talk about it.See here's the thing. When Violet called last week to ask about what Conner went through during his coma it got me thinking; she had just read the essay, which was the story of what happened in Conner's dream, then called him and asked him about what happened when he was in the coma. Then when he flat out denied that he had a dream and just thought he was asleep the whole time, she was obviously upset. I don't exactly know what I'm proving here and the idea is so crazy its laughable but what if by chance...Violet had the same dream?
I shake my head at the thought of it as I walk into the school. That wouldn't even be scientifically possible, and I don't even want to bring up the thought of it to Conner because I don't want to get his hopes up either. But that was the whole reason why I wanted them to talk at the party. I knew when she had gotten there but I watched her and I saw that she started drinking, call me a terrible person but i fully meant to wait the whole hour before I told Conner because I knew she would be drunk and might admit something?
Yes I'm definitely going to hell, but its not like I was the one who gave her the alcohol, she did that all on her own, I just chose when to tell Conner she was here.
Anyway now its Monday morning, and all I know is that somehow Ryan ended up in my den with Conner and Violet and kissed then dragged Violet out of the room. Suffice to say I did not see that coming.
I look at the clock on the wall and see there are ten minutes until homeroom. I got here early today because to be honest I'm just too eager to figure something out about what happened. I sit near the school's entrance and jump up when I see Ryan walk in only seconds later.
"Howling!" I shout to him as I walk up to him. He obviously recognizes my voice and turns around and smiles to me
"Hey dude whats up?" He greets and I motion him off to the side
"Okay Ryan, what the hell happened on Friday?" I cut right to the chase and he groans while closing his eyes, showing me that he knew this conversation would happen.
"Dude can't this wait until later?" He asks and I shake my head
"I waited all weekend Ryan, just tell me what I walked in to." I finish and he nods his head, agreeing
"Well I saw Conner pull Violet up the stairs, and she looked really drunk and just out of it. So I started to worry. I saw him pull her into the room, and I don't know I guess I was just afraid that he would take advantage so-" He starts but I interrupt
"He would never do that to her, he cares about her too much to" I cut in defending Conner
"I figured, but I was still worried, so I followed them up the stairs." He says looking around uncomfortably
"Okay but why did you go into the room?" I ask him and he sighs again
"She was telling him things that she shouldn't have been so I barged in to stop her."
"What kinds of things?" I ask and I can't ignore my subconscious reminding me of the impossible situation I thought of earlier
"Just things, things that he shouldn't have heard, but he was too persistent to find out what she was saying and he wouldn't let her leave so I did the one thing that I knew would stung him numb..." He trails off
