Dan's POV

The bell rang.

"Class dismissed!" mrs. Wilson said.

I started packing my things. When I was done, I looked for Phil, but he was already gone. I felt a bit disappointed. I started walking home when I spotted Phil further away. He was going the same direction as I was about to go. Without thinking, I ran after him. He got a shock when he saw me.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." I said.

"Oh, it's ok. I was just surprised. What uhm... What are you doing here?" Phil said.

"Uhm... This is my way home, my house is the sixth over there." I said and pointed at my house, over beside the big lawn.

"Weird, I live at the second house! We live 2 houses apart." Phil said, smiled, and then looked to the ground again.

"Cool." I said.

It felt really nice to talk Phil, though he didn't really talk much.

"Uhm... So that video editing you are doing. What's that all about?" I asked.

And then he started talking about it. Techniques, color quality, hours it took and so on. I just enjoyed hearing Phil's voice. The more he got into it, the more he relaxed talking to me about it. Without noticing, we were already at Phil's house. I didn't really know what to say or do.

"Well, see you tomorrow." Phil said.

"Uhm, yeah. See ya." I said, and continued to my house.

I felt a weird urge to run back and hug him. All of the sudden I fell back to reality. What the hell was I doing? I'm straight? I like girls? I'm not gay? But... Phil was so perfect? I hit myself in the face for thinking that.

When I got home, I ran to my room and threw myself in bed. I lay staring at the ceiling. I felt a bit tired, so I closed my eyes. But when I did, Phil's blue eyes came in my mind. I tried pushing him out of my mind, but couldn't. He kept coming back. Finally, I gave up and decided to go for a run. It was a great idea. Then I could run past Phil's house. My god, stop it! I'm gonna run the other direction! I thought, but when I walked outside, I ran towards Phil's house anyway. He was nowhere to be seen. I really wanted to run past it again. No, I'm not gonna do that. This needed to stop. My brain needed to wake up from this weird obsession.
