3 years ago:

Kosuke was sitting by the window, overlooking the village. Some of the buildings were destroyed. Hidden leaf looked lifeless. A girl walked into the room.
"Oh I'm sorry!"
Kosuke turned around. She was a nurse with dark brown wavy hair and honey eyes.
"I wasn't expecting anyone here.. I have to check if she's alright." She got closer to Akaris bed.
"It's okay.. don't mind me." Kosuke leaned on the wall. The girl was careful with Akari.
"She will be okay.." she said..
"What?"
"She'll wake up soon. Her body is going through a lot, it needs time, but she'll definitely wake up."
She wanted to give Kosuke hope. He looked miserable just standing there for days, waiting for his best friend to wake up.
"She's strong.. that's why she has to wake up." Kosuke tried to smile, but it was too painful.
"Is she your.."
"Family. She's my best friend to be exact."
"All done. Make sure to call me when she wakes up."
She headed to the door.
"I'm Kosuke by the way."
"I'm Ren." She smiled and walked out.

"She seems nice.." Akari mumbled with her eyes closed. Kosuke wasn't expecting her. He wasn't sure how to feel. He was definitely happy that Akari was alive, but she would have to live without Naruto and It would ruin her. He grabbed her hand.
"Akari, are you okay?" She tried to sit up.
"My body feels so heavy.." Kosuke adjusted her pillow. She squeezed his hand and he just noticed that Akari was crying. Kosukes heart shattered. "Don't call her yet.." Akari whispered through the tears. "Just let me..."
Kosuke hugged her tight.
"You'll be okay!" His face soaked with tears as he heard her cry her heart out. There was nothing he could do to help.

3 days after the battle Akari finally woke up. Her body accepted the power that was transferred in it.
The hidden leaf village was getting ready for the funeral. They had just lost their leader.
Akaris heart died once again as she stepped on the graveyard. Every step she took felt painful.
She was reminding herself not to cry, not to break, but it was just too hard for her. She placed the piece of white cloak on the stone that had "Uzumaki Naruto" written on it. That made everything clear to her. He really was gone.
Akari tried to walk away from it but she stumbled and ended up in Sasukes arms. The whole village was looking at the girl who loved the Hokage. Out of embarrassment she hid her face in Sasukes arms. He carried her away.

The sun was setting. Everyone in the village were attending the funeral, except the two of them.
Sasuke hasn't said a word, but she felt everything he would say. Still it couldn't make it any better. The whole village felt like it was falling apart.

A week later she had to leave the hospital, but her apartment was destroyed and there was only one place she could go.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" Kosuke asked as she was about to enter Narutos house.
"I'll be fine."
"Okay, goodnight then."
She closed the door. The walls looked lifeless. This house hadn't felt that cold before. She walked into his bedroom to find his clothes on the bed just the way he had left them. She started to tremble and ran to the door. Kosuke was still sitting on the stairs, waiting for her and suddenly she felt relieved.
"Can you please stay with me?"
"Sure, kid."

Few days later they heard a news. They ran to the hospital as fast as they could.
"Mayumi!"
"It's a baby girl." Mayumi smiled with a baby in her arms. Kakashi was by her side. Akari got closer and looked at her. She looked absolutely beautiful.
"We decided to name her Naruka in memory of Naruto.." said Kakashi. Akari gasped.
"And I want you to be her godmother, Akari." Mayumi handed the baby to her. Akari was too scared to hold her at first.
"Guys, she's so beautiful! And so tiny! I don't want to hurt her.." Akari smiled. Narukas tiny hand grabbed her finger. "Oh my god!" She couldn't stop smiling. This was the first time she smiled since Naruto died.
"She likes you already!" Mayumi chuckled and squeezed Kakashis hand. They looked so happy.
