Flashback:

"Congratulations, Lady Hokage." Kakashi handed over the Hokage hat. The people were cheering for her.
"This is wrong." Akari whispered to the previous Hokage.
"Akari, it's done." Kakashi tried to calm her down. She grabbed his arm.
"No Kakashi, you don't understand! This is wrong!"
The people were cheering for her. Kosuke smiled proudly.
"They're waiting for you."
"We can't keep lying. They don't even know who I really am!" She turned to the people, but Kakashi pulled her back.
"Don't."
She grabbed Kakashi's sleeve desperately.
"I can't do this to them!"
"No, Akari.. That will cause a disaster."
"I have to."

She walked forward.
"Today I vowed to protect the Hidden Leaf village." Everyone was listening carefully to the new leader. "As the matter of fact it's always been like that. Ever since I stepped into this village I was ready to fight for its good. But I didn't want this. There are many people cut out to be called a Hokage and I'm not one of them. I don't think I deserve to be your leader. Not after being led by the greatest, not after Naruto." Her hands were trembling. "But you chose me anyway and I have to be honest about my identity."

"Akari, what are you doing?!" Shikamaru whispered from behind. Akari knew what was about to come as she spoke.
"My real name is Ōtsutsuki Akari." She released transformation jutsu. Her brown hair got white. People gasped in the distance.

"Isn't she the one who attacked us years ago?"
"That's her!"
"She brought the others to destroy our village!"
"You're an enemy!"
"Get lost!"
"Traitor!"

Akari's eyes filled with tears as she tried to continue speaking calmly.
"Yes, that was me. But that doesn't change how I feel about this village. I couldn't control my actions, but that doesn't make me any less guilty. For that I beg for your forgiveness." She got on her knees.
"Get out of our village!" Someone yelled from the crowd.
"Go back to where you belong, murderer!"

Akari soaked the ground with tears. She couldn't bring herself to get up. Someone threw a stone at her. Anbu surrounded her immediately.
"You're an outsider!"
Shikamaru stepped forward.
"Everyone, please just calm down!"
Akari pushed her face to the ground while anbu protected her from the crowd.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.." she whispered crying.

Present time:

Akari fell from the sky like a wounded white dragon. The sight of blue sky slowly faded into darkness as she closed her eyes. She smiled. The pain was gone and she wasn't afraid of anything anymore.
Sasuke caught her body in the air. He rested her on the ground carefully, but she was already gone. Sasuke touched her face. He wasn't sure how to feel about her. He pulled the rods one by one from her skin. That was the only thing he could do now.

Kosuke roughly grabbed her from Sasuke.
"Don't you dare, Akari.." he was trying to wake her up, but looking at her body covered in blood he knew. "Come on!"
"She's dead." Said Sasuke.
"Shut up! You could at least try to protect her!" His green eyes filled with tears and rage. "You were the only one outside the barrier. Why didn't you save her?!"
Sasuke didn't care to explain. He sat back and watched as Sakura checked her pulse.
"Oh, Akari.. " she whispered.
"Sakura, heal her, please!" Kosuke held her body desperately. "She's my family, I can't lose her!"
"It's too late, Kosuke... there's nothing I can do."
"No! She promised she would always be there for me! She promised to be happy!"

Sasuke hissed and got up.
"Believe me, she is happy."
Kosuke grabbed his collar.
"You bastard! You were just laying there in the dirt, you didn't do a thing to help!" His hands were trembling. "She covered you when you were about to die! Why didn't you do anything when she needed the same?!"
Sakura got between them and yelled.
"Kosuke, let him go! It's not the right time to fight!"
"He can hit me if he wants to." Sasuke threw his katana away and surrendered.
"No, stop! Both of you!" Sakura hugged her husband. "Sasuke would do anything if he could, but she knew what she was doing. Isn't it right, Sasuke?"
He didn't answer, which meant that everything Sakura was saying was true. Kosukes heart skipped a beat.
"She kept us behind the barrier so we couldn't stop her." Sakura wiped her tears.
