At the end of Chapter 3:  In turn, Can asked how they had come to learn about the agency. Mr. Aubrey responded that they had come highly recommended to them from a couple of friends. Being curious, Can asked for their names and was told, "They are old friends of mine from way back. Yigit Ersoz and his sister Polen. I have not seen Yigit since college but I ran into Polen a few weeks ago in London. She is the one who recommended your agency and said she had been in a long-term relationship with you. Is this not true?" Sanem was upset. She looked over at Can and waited for his explanation.

Can was stunned. What was Polen trying to do? He had not seen her since the episode at a party in London months ago. Can cleared his throat and answered Victor's question. "Yes, I know Polen. We were together for a time but that was way over a year ago. So, no, we are not in a long-term relationship. We are discussing business here and I hope that past relationships will not affect our ability to work together."

Sanem smiled, pleased with the firmness of Can's response. She had no idea that Polen had a brother and wondered if Can knew. Victor assured Can this would not be a factor at all. He was definitely glad that Polen had suggested the agency to him. His company was very impressed with what the creative team had put together for their campaign.

For Juliette Benoit, the autograph and the personal picture taken with Sanem had made her day. She exclaimed how much she loved Sanem's book and wished she had brought her own copy with her for Sanem to sign. Since they were due to return in two weeks, she would make sure brought it for Sanem to autograph. Sanem was most appreciative and humbled at the compliments.

When asked if she was working on a new book and when it would be published, Sanem gave them that information and thanked them for their interest. Juliette insisted that Sanem should try to come to France for a book signing. Her book was a best seller there and it would mean so much to them. Sanem agreed to talk to her publisher and knew that Can was listening intently to the conversation. Deren was becoming increasingly annoyed with all the attention being paid to Sanem and her book. This meeting was about the advertising campaign and not Sanem's book.

But Can was beaming with pride watching the way Sanem handled herself with Victor and Juliette. Her determination and strength shone through and made her even more desirable in his eyes, if that was even possible. However, he knew that after the clients left the meeting, Sanem would have questions about Polen. He had no idea why she worried about Polen. She was nothing to Can compared to Sanem. Even though they did have a history, it had never been a serious relationship to Can. Polen had simply been a person of convenience and habit. However, her reluctance to let go of their relationship did upset him. He would not stand by and let Polen ruin what he had only just managed to regain with Sanem. He hoped she did not have an ulterior motive for recommending his agency to Victor and Juliette's company.

When all of the issues had been discussed, Victor and Juliette said their goodbyes and left the agency. It looked like their company was going to be a great client for the agency. Securing this caliber of customer would bring the agency into the forefront of the advertising world. Can knew their final presentation would have to be spectacular and the whole campaign flawless if they were to win the business.

The entire agency team was on a high and a celebration was in the works. But Can decided to hold off on a huge party until the final campaign presentation had been accepted. Then he planned to have a big celebration bash at his house. Emre was overjoyed at their success and glad his brother had returned to the agency. All seemed good with the world. A few months ago, the agency was struggling financially but with Can's talents, it looked like those bad times were over. Emre knew this would not have been possible without Sanem. She had rescued Can from the destructive path he was on. Sanem was the absolute reason for Can's return and Emre would be forever grateful to her.

Can was overjoyed, swinging Sanem around then planting a big kiss on her lips. She was laughing and telling him to put her down. They fell down together on the sofa in his office. Can held her tight and his feeling of happiness turned into deep desire. He needed Sanem but had never known just much until now. She fed his will to continue in life and made him excited to wake up each day and be the best he could be. With love flowing between them, they cuddled together on the sofa. Can was sure she was one of the reasons they had snagged this campaign. Her popularity and bestselling book had definitely helped to sway the decision.

A knock on his office door startled them and they quickly regained their composure. Can answered with a "Come in" and Deren slowly entered the room. She wanted to make sure the coast was clear. They had all been embarrassed before and she preferred that not happen again. She envied Sanem because she had wanted to be the one to fill that void within Can for so long. To be the one to make him happy beyond belief. But she knew there was no way she could compete with Sanem. How could she? When Can met Sanem, he instantly dropped Polen, a person he had been with for years, for her. Polen was a beautiful, successful scientist and even she did not stand a chance with Can. Love had never been fair to Deren so she had to move on.

Deren sincerely congratulated Can on a job well done. She knew how hard the whole team had all worked on presenting the campaign. She had to include Sanem and give her credit as well. The ideas she offered had shaped the entire presentation. Deren had to admit she had talent for advertising. Deren commented to Can that they needed to plan their next steps soon so they were ready when the it was time came to make the final campaign presentation. Can agreed but suggested they take the rest of the day off to relax and recharge. He was ready to escape to his mountain cabin with his beloved for some private time. Deren was reluctant at first but allowed Can to decide, knowing that he would not change his mind once he was determined to do something. Can stepped out of his office to make the announcement to the agency employees that they had the rest of the day off.

Sanem was still very bothered that Polen was involved in the agency securing this new client. It made her think that Polen and Can were still in some kind of relationship. Had more gone on in London at their last meeting than Can told her? Or was it just her worried mind tormenting her?

When Can returned to his office, he noticed the look of concern on Sanem's face right away. He went to her and drew her into the circle of his arms. Whenever he held her this way, she was reminded of how he was her beloved albatross. His long, strong arms always shielded her from harm and protected her with love.

He whispered in her ear, "What is your fear, my love? Your face is full of concern." He had a pretty good idea what was on her mind but wanted to make light of it. Her fears were unfounded but completely understandable. Given all that she had endured from Polen before, Can knew Sanem wanted to finally remove Polen completely from their lives.

Sanem pulled back from Can so their eyes could meet. His eyes always told the truth. The look he returned was sincere, dark, needy, and full of love for her. Once again, Sanem knew that Can was hers and hers alone. But did Polen know this same truth?
