At the end of Chapter 15: The taxi ride to the hotel was short, only about ten minutes from the airport. Within a half hour, Sanem was in her room. Ahmet had outdone himself choosing her accommodations and she was very pleased with the beautiful suite he had booked for her. And as always, he had arranged for an abundance of wonderful food to be waiting for her. Since Ahmet would not arrive until the next day, Sanem would be on her own tonight. Sanem changed into comfy clothes and settled down on the sofa to call Can. "Can, I have the most beautiful room. Actually, Ahmet booked a gorgeous suite for me, and arranged for some very tasty food to be waiting for me." Can sighed, wishing he was there with her that very moment. "Do you want to stay with me tonight?" Sanem whispered. "You are with me in my heart. Always."

Ahmet arrived at the site of the conference just an hour before the Writers' Forum was to begin. He apologized for being late but his flight departure from Istanbul had been delayed. Sanem had already made her way to the Conference Center, located a convenient ten-minute walk from her hotel. She wanted to get there early to get a feel for the space.
Ahmet was waiting for her and they were both eager to get started. Ahmet took Sanem around and introduced her to some of the other writers who were already there. Ahmet had been to this Forum before and made several friends as well as some very important contacts. Sanem blended into the environment just as Ahmet thought she would. She had the confidence of a world-famous author and everyone was taking notice.
Can had spoken to Sanem earlier that morning but wanted to call her again. She answered his call on the first ring. "Can, my love, hello. Is everything OK?"
Immediately, he answered, "My love, I miss you so much that I had to hear your voice again. Am I disturbing you?"
Sanem's heart fluttered so hard it almost made her body jerk. "Of course not, Can. I was just thinking about you." They chatted a few minutes until Ahmet brought over a young girl for Sanem to meet. So, they said their goodbyes and ended their call.
Sanem was always glad to meet her fellow writers. The young girl was a big fan and wanted to have her autograph. Sanem still could not get used to someone wanting to meet her and ask her to sign something. That was almost unbelievable to her.
The first session of the Writers' Forum lasted almost two hours. It was wonderful listening to all of the speakers give their advice and share their expertise. There was a break before the next round of sessions which gave Sanem time to freshen up and take a restroom break. When the session resumed, Sanem would take part in a 30-minute Q&A session about her style of writing and was excited about it.
As she turned to go into the meeting room, she noticed Yigit standing across the hallway talking to a young man. She froze and looked around in a panic. "Is Polen here, too?" Her thoughts were running wild. She was terrified and wanted to call Can immediately. But what could he do? He was in Istanbul and she was in Athens. She knew there was no way to hide because it was time for her to take the stage.
She took her seat at the table on stage and looked around to find Ahmet. As she did, she saw Yigit was staring at her. He nodded his head in recognition and smiled. Sanem glanced away immediately and thought, "What a creep. What is he doing here anyway?"
Although Can was working, it did not have his full attention. He was worrying about Sanem and how she was doing. He knew she would call back on her lunch break but he was feeling anxious anyway. In the meantime, he was trying to find a perfect model for the cosmetic company's ad. It would not be easy to replace Sanem.
