At the end of Chapter 7:  Sanem giggled and pretended to struggle to get away from him. When they pulled apart, she saw that look on Can's handsome face that always made her feel weak in the knees. How would she be able to let him go even for a little while to promote her book? Can finally said, " Sanem we will figure this out. If you have to do this book tour, then we will make it work. Try to put it off for a couple of weeks if you can though. You have to give my heart time to get used to the idea of sharing you with the world." Can always said the most perfect things to make Sanem feel like she was all that mattered. The love she had for him made her feel she could accomplish anything. Now, if she could just get Polen to fall off the face of the earth, that would be excellent!!

Can and Sanem remained on the sofa for a while longer. The need to hold and feel Sanem next to him had captured Can. She had become the lifeline to his very existence. How was he possibly going to survive without her while she was away?

Sanem finally broke the silence between them. "Can, it will only be for a few days. I just don't know how many engagements will be planned. So, the quicker I get started with them, the quicker they will be over."

Can was processing it all and thinking, "I guess I could talk to Nihat baba first. While Sanem is gone will be the perfect time to shop for that one-of-a-kind ring I want to give her. He looked over at Sanem. "OK, I guess you're right. Find out when they want you to get started and we'll go from there. But I'm telling you right now, I'm not the happiest about this." Then he leaned in for a kiss. Sanem smiled and said she felt the same way but knew the book tour was something that needed to be done.

A knock on Can's office door interrupted their conversation. Emre opened the door slowly and asked, "Abi, can I come in? I need to talk to you about something."

Can beckoned him to come in but did not move from beside Sanem on the sofa. Emre explained they had a slight problem with a payment to the modeling agency they had used on the last shoot. There was a dispute over the amount of the commission that had been suggested and the final payment that had been agreed to. He needed Can's help to review the contract with him. So, Can and Emre moved over to Emre's office.

When Can stepped away, Sanem thought it would be a good time to call Ahmet and find out the first date of the book tour. Fully aware of the topic she and Can discussed the day before, she didn't want to interfere with any plans Can might be hatching. He loved to surprise her. For a little more privacy, she went into the conference room to make the call.

Ahmet was glad to hear from her. He told her the plan for the start of the promotional tour was approximately a month away, or maybe five weeks. It would depend on when Sanem finished the revised draft and got it to the publisher. Sanem explained she was on the last chapter and should be able to send it to the publisher the next day. Ahmet was excited and eager to send the transcript for printing. They agreed to talk again in a couple of days after he had all the time lines in place.

Can found Sanem in the conference room just as she was finishing her call. She relayed the information received from Ahmet. He was relieved to know it would be at least a month before Sanem would be leaving. This would give him time to carry out his plan.

Sanem saw the look of concern on his face and asked, "Can, what is the problem? Is it the tour? Or a problem with the modeling contract?"

Can smiled. "It's nothing really, just a small dispute. Hopefully, Emre can figure it out. If not, we will need to find another modeling agency for the cosmetic campaign. That might prove hard to do on such short notice. Hey, let's grab some lunch. Are you hungry?"

Sanem nodded and he took her hand as they walked to his truck. Can was in the mood for the best fish sandwich in town and it could be found at their favorite place.

After a long lunch, they returned to the Agency to finish out the workday. Sanem was revising the last chapter of her book so it would be ready to send to the publisher. This part of the process was tedious but necessary. She liked taking care of this step herself because it gave her more control. Two hours later, she was done and putting a package together to send by an overnight courier. The publisher would have it tomorrow. The next step would be to print and release the book. Sanem always got a bit nervous and apprehensive at this stage. She always wondered if she had put all she could into the book. But this book made her feel proud and she was ready to share it with the world.

Can and Emre were in a meeting again. She knew they were dealing with something more difficult than usual. Emre had always handled these kinds of situations on his own. If he had felt the need to involve Can, she knew it was serious. Their meeting was running late into the day. Sanem became more concerned when the Agency's lawyer arrived. This shed an even more serious note to the situation.

With the other employees leaving for the end of the day, Sanem decided to call for a courier to pick up the manuscript and send it overnight to Ahmet's office in Ankara. She hated to interrupt Cans meeting so she sent him a text saying she would take a taxi home, and he could call her later. He immediately left the meeting and came out to her, apologizing for the time and thanking her for understanding. Then he revealed that the trouble they were dealing with was more serious than they anticipated. He would call as soon as he was heading home. Sanem left the Agency and went outside to grab a taxi. She hated to see the Agency in any kind of legal trouble because it upset Can so much. He regarded the company as a testimony to the love he felt for his father.

A few hours after Sanem got home, Can called to say he was on his way home. She knew by the sound of his voice that the situation at the Agency had not yet been settled. Can promised to pick her up the next morning for work and said he would bring breakfast. Sanem tried to go to sleep but the excitement of finishing her book and sending it off to the publisher kept her mind too busy to be able to settle down. She was also torn. On the one hand, she was happy to be starting the journey to introduce her new book. But on the other hand, she was apprehensive about being separated from Can. Their lives had been so happy and she knew the possibility of marriage would bring them to a new dimension in their relationship. She was ready to embrace all that their love had to offer.

At home, Can poured himself a drink and took it outside and sat down next to the pool. The day had been exhausting. The dispute they were dealing with was probably not going to be settled. The Agency would be legally forced to pay the amount the modeling agency was asking for and the settlement would be costly. Added to that, they would also have to find another modeling agency which would incur even more cost. The new Agency client had shown confidence in them and expected them to provide a top-notch campaign for their consideration. With Sanem's involvement, however, maybe the Agency could develop a perfect presentation and would win the campaign.

Sanem! Can wondered why he hadn't thought of this earlier. They could use Sanem as the model for the preliminary work on the campaign. The time this would save would allow them time to find a permanent model for the cosmetic company's campaign. They could continue to focus on the business at hand. Now, all he had to do was convince Sanem to do it. Modeling did not particularly make her comfortable but she had a natural ability in front of the camera. Sanem had so many special features and abilities which is why Can loved her more than anything in the world.

Can knew he needed to get this problem resolved quickly. He had other things he was more interested in doing, like talking to Nihat baba and finding the perfect ring for Sanem. The reality of Sanem leaving fairly soon on her book signing tour had caused him considerable anxiety. He was anxious to make a final commitment to her and join them together forever.
