The Cage

You awoke tired and scanned the room with your eyes. You realized you were still in your lion form. You tried to turn back into a human, but it wasn't working. You started freaking out when you realized you were stuck in your lion form. The room you were in felt like it was getting smaller and smaller. That's when you realized it wasn't a room at all, you were in a cage.

You were locked up like some wild animal at the zoo, on display for everyone to stare and point at. You pressed yourself to the floor and laid your ears against your furry head. You tried calling out for someone, but it came out as small roar. After what happened with HYDRA, you didn't do so well in small, dark, rooms... especially if you couldn't get out. You started whimpering in fear as your tail curled around you. Horrible memories started to replay in your head and you didn't like it one bit. You whimpered and growled softly as the memories kept coming.

You tried curling in on yourself, but your lion form was too large. You tried shifting into a leopard, and it worked! You focused really hard, but you couldn't turn back into a human no matter how hard you tried. You swiped a paw at the floor in anger and stalked over to a corner of the cage. You turned in a circle before settling on the floor, pressed into the corner. For some reason it made you feel more safe. Your ears perked up when you heard a familiar voice shouting.

"Open the cage, now!" Tony demanded.

He was standing a few feet away from the cell with Fury, Steve, Peter, and Nat. They were all deep in conversation, well arguing actually, that they didn't notice you moving towards them in the cage. You stuck your paw in between the bars and tried to reach for Peter's shoulder but you couldn't quite reach him.

"She stays locked up and that's final. " Fury replied.

"She's not a threat to anyone, you don't need to lock her up like some kind of monster!" Steve argued.

"Oh really, look me in the eye and tell me, that she should be let out." Fury challenged as he handed Steve a tablet. Tony, Peter, and Nat watched over Steve's shoulder, the security footage of you shifting into a lion before ripping that boy to shreds. Steve slowly handed the tablet back silent.

"No no no no! Guys that's not me! I wasn't in control, the boy did something to me! You have to believe me please!?" You tried to explain, but it came out as a long, shrill, meow. Everyone turned to you as you continued desperately trying to communicate with your family. Peter was closer to the cage so you stuck your paw in between the bars again, and pawed at his shirt softly. He looked into your eyes and you prayed that he was able to see that you didn't do this. He was your best friend after all, he couldn't let you stay in this cage.

"She won't be in that cage for much longer anyway. She is being transported to—" Furry began but was cut off.

"I swear to god if you say a fucking zoo."

"It's not a zoo, it's a place for dangerous people who have certain...abilities."

"Y/n is not dangerous!" Nat argued.

"What the hell is going on!" Loki shouted extremely loud as he stormed into the room.

"Loki! I told you you couldn't come with us because you'd try to kill everyone!" Tony shouted.

"I can do whatever I damn well please. Now will someone please tell me why the hell y/n is in a cage!"

"She killed one of my agents." Fury stated angrily.

"Just one?" Loki asked, "I don't see what the big deal is."

"The deal is she tore him apart like he was a chew toy!" Fury shouted.
