The Wolf

You closed the door behind you as you headed downstairs for breakfast. You made your way into the kitchen and saw Steve sitting at the kitchen island with a plate of food.

"Morning." You greeted.

"Morning." He replied.

You could see the bags under his eyes.

"How'd you sleep last night?" You said as you pointed underneath your eyes telling him wordlessly that there are bags under his.

"Um... The super soldier serum advanced every sense I have, including hearing..." Steve trailed off looking extremely uncomfortable.

"Wh-." You began to ask but silenced yourself when you realized he was referring to you and Loki's actives last night.

"Oh my god... sorry." You said while your cheeks blushed dark crimson.

You were so embarrassed but you were thanking whatever god there was that it wasn't Tony who heard you and Loki. That would have been bad. Tony might have actually killed Loki if that happened.

You grabbed a bowl of cereal and ate quickly wanting to try out your newly discovered powers. You put your dishes away once you finished and ran out the front door while Steve shouted after you.

When you were outside in the huge field of grass you just stood there and took a deep breath. You hadn't been outside in the sun for so long because of everything that happened. You were scared to try, but Loki said that only the very first shift was painful, plus you trusted him deeply. You closed your eyes while letting out a shuddering breath and pictured yourself as a wolf. You slowly started to transform into the beautiful beast.

When you opened your eyes the sights and smells were strange and amazing at the same time. In your wolf form you saw the world very differently. The colors around you were vibrant, sharp and exquisite, it was as if you were truly seeing the world for the first time.

You took a sniff at the vibrant green grass below your huge paws. The different smells overflowing your senses. You could still smell the dew on the grass from the rain that had fallen many days ago! The smell of the dirt was strangely pleasant, the freshness and slight musk from the rainfall days ago flooded your snout.

You lifted your great furry head and inhaled the scents around you. So many different odors hit you at once, it was overwhelming. You gracefully padded towards the forests edge. The smell of the forest was wonderful.

Your sense of smell was sharp and you could smell the sap of the trees, the smell of the crisp wind, the aroma of all sorts of different plants and flowers. You felt like you were floating as your heavy paws sank into the dirt slightly as you ran through the forest and in between the trees. You felt like you belonged here and nowhere else.

As you ran through the foliage the smells were coming at you and the morning breeze was swirling around your fur. You found a small clearing deep in the forest, the trees were surrounding the large patch of grass and felt almost like a protective blanket around you. High up, the trees tops were growing away from the clearing letting the morning sun shine down on you.

Your fur almost sparked in the suns rays. You laid down in the soft grass and put your head down to rest. After a while, you got back up on your paws and started to run back towards the compound.

As your paws touched the ground lightly the wind whistled around you, bringing the wonderful smells of the forest towards your snout. You decide then that you would come back here everyday and just run and lay in the sun in the clearing. That would be your spot.

You finally made your way into the huge field of grass and rolled over letting the warm sun beat down on you. When you started to get too warm, you lifted yourself up and trotted over to the building. You realized that you had to turn back which meant you would be without clothing.
