Miyoung:

"Yoo Mi! Yoo Mi! Check it out! This new drama is coming out next week. Wanna come over to my place and watch it?" My friend, Yeonhee, pulls on my arm and asks. I smile and check out the poster for the drama on her phone. It looked like a romantic comedy drama, which is my favorite, so I nodded, basically agreeing, which made Yeonhee smile and squeal.

"What about Soona?" I ask and Yeonhee sighs, pouting at me. I give her a confused look and she sighs again.

"Soona is studying all weekend. She also has taekwondo practice. I wish she could join us but she's always so busy." Yeonhee says and I nod. We were walking to our favorite restaurant to get some lunch before our next class. Although we both have our drivers license and cars, we both thought the sky was beautiful so we just walked since it was close by the school.

Now I'm in my second semester of college. I luckily passed my first semester with good enough grades and I made some good friends in the process. I'm not the type of person who likes big friend groups, but I'm glad that I found two good friends, Yeonhee and Soona.

Yeonhee is extremely energetic, smart, and not to mention, she's gorgeous. She gets a lot of stares and looks every single day because of how pretty she is. When her and I first started hanging out together, everyone walking by us would compliment our looks and all of the things I got in high school. But, just like me, Yeonhee is severely scared of people. She opened up to me about her ex boyfriend and how bad it was for her which made her lose trust in people and why she had a hard time making friends in high school. Once I told her my story, we immediately became friends. We're also in the same classes so it was really lucky.

Soona is smart, tall, athletic, and beautiful. She doesn't think she's pretty, but I always reassure her that she's absolutely gorgeous. I remember how we met exactly since it was probably one of the most memorable days of my life. Yeonhee and I were on the bus on our way to go to the mall to buy skincare products. The bus was packed and we were standing up next to this guy who was sitting down. Soona was sitting down next to him and he took out his phone and started taking pictures of Yeonhee and I's legs without us noticing. Soona immediately noticed and she took his phone and threw it out of the window. The guy asked the bus driver to stop and he left, leaving an empty seat next to Soona, where she asked Yeonhee and I to sit. Yeonhee and I were really close so she sat down next to Soona and she pulled me onto her lap. We introduced ourselves to each other and exchanged phone numbers and all three of us went to the mall together. Ever since then, Soona has been the "mother" figure of our group since she's so protective over us, especially after we told her about our experiences in middle school and high school. She also opened up that she was bullied for her looks in middle school which is why she grew to be scared of people. All three of us bonded over this.

We were always open to each other, but the one thing I never told them was about Sungchan. He's an idol now and if I tell them, I'm going to break Sungchan's trust. I know that they won't tell anyone because both of them made it clear that they have no interest in male idols, but it worries me what they'll do. Yeonhee told us that she's always preferred girl groups and Soona and I agreed. Yeonhee is a big fan of TWICE, Soona loves BLACKPINK, and everyone knows how obsessed I am with Red Velvet. It's just another thing we bonded on. (Stanning the big 3 girl groups). They don't know much about the K-Pop industry except for the fact that they can't date at all. I remember we were all having dinner one day and there were multiple articles coming up about how one idol is dating another and all of that. Yeonhee said they should be allowed to date whoever they want and we agreed. Soona said it's none of our business if they date and if they want to announce it then we have to support them as fans. I told them that fans don't own them and eventually they're going to fall in love. I'm glad they all thought this way, but I have no idea how they'd react if I told them I was dating an idol.

Speaking of Sungchan, our way of dating is him being on stage performing, and me watching him perform. We haven't talked in a long time, but sometimes I'll text him just because. Even if he takes a long time to text me back, I don't mind because I understand that he's busy. I won't lie and say that it's easy being a non-celebrity and dating someone from one of the most popular K-Pop groups now. Every day, I'm so worried about Sungchan and his health. Since my brother is also an idol now, I know all about his schedule. Both my brother and Sungchan are in one of the big 3 companies so it's really hard for the both of them to eat or sleep. Every night, before going to sleep, I pray that Sungchan had at least three meals today and that he gets at least seven hours of sleep. I also pray that he's not overworking himself and losing a lot of weight. I always want to see him, but with school and my job, I hide all of these feelings to myself. Sometimes it feels like we're not even dating. Sometimes it makes me wonder why we're dating in the first place.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if he wasn't an idol.
