~Surviving Highschool~
We get to the airport half an hour later. I leave Josh and the kids at the section of seats and go check in with the luggage.
“Miss, this bag is too heavy.”
“Are you sure? I weighed it at home. It was under the maximum weight.”
“It says it is 1 pound over, I’m sorry, you’re going to have to pay th-“
I open the bag and grab out one of Josh’s bunny hugs.
“Weight it.” I say, looking at her, then the bag.
She gives me a weird look before reluctantly weighing the bag.
“Nevermind.” She says typing into the computer.
She finishes putting on the luggage tags and I go back over to Josh.
“What was that about?” He asks patting Liz’s back.
“You’re over by one pound.” I mimic the luggage ladies voice and Josh laughs.
“Hey now, don’t be grumpy.” He smiles that amazing smile and I melt.
“Yeah, okay.” I take a seat beside him and look at my watch. An hour until departure.
I look at all the business women and men getting ready to travel. The flight attendants going to their designated areas. I watch Drayten play with my yellow flipflop that I kicked off.
“Hey, no no. That’s dirty!” I say as he rises it to his mouth. I quickly grab it before my flip flop is lunch. “I’m going to go grab some gum and a magazine or two.” I say as I pick up Drayten and point to the store across from our chairs.
“Need me to come?” Josh asks.
“I’m alright, stay here with Liz.” I smile and kiss his forehead.
As I walk with Drayten on my hip, I look through the magazines in the little complimentary store. I grab one Forever 17 magazine and a People! magazine. I go to the front, put the two magazines down, and grab a package of Stride gum.
“Is that all?” Asks the clerk.
“Yes.” I say, fidgeting for the money in my pocket. Drayten has other ideas and knocks down a display of water bottles. “Drayten!” I cry, flinching at the racket it makes.
The clerk looks at me, then to the ground. I pick up a bottle. “Uhm, this too.” I pay for my stuff quickly and leave, before I make another big scene.
Just one more hour until departure.
