I slip into the car and put my backpack down. Mom came 5 minutes later to get me and I hid in a bush incase Ryan came around. I’ve already ignored 5 text messages and 2 phone calls from Josh.

“What happened?”

“Stupid ass bitch..” I say under my breath.

“What was that?” She asks trying to pull onto the now busy street.

“Lindsay told everyone at the pep rally that I am pregnant.”

“Bitch.” She says pulling out. We drive in silence for a while until she breaks the ice. “Bridge, it’s not what it seems like. I’m not and never would cheat on your father.”

I sit there in silence staring straight on.

“Do you understand?”

“I’ll understand.” Then it goes silent again. We pull up at home and I jump out.

“I have to get to work, I’ll call the school. Just stay home. Don’t go anywhere and don’t let anyone in. Ok?”

“Kay.” I slam the door shut and run up the front porch steps. When I turn around she’s already gone. Dirt rises up in the air and once again I’m alone. Before I know it my eyes are filled with tears. I walk into the house, through down my backpack, sunglasses, phone and keys. I remember when being alone was a good thing.

*knock, knock*

My head shoots up from under my bed sheets. I slip on some sweat pants and go to the door. I don’t even look through the window, just open the door.

“Hey there, sexy.”

“What the hell?! Get out!” I yell at Ryan. “How’d you find me?” It clicks in my brain that he’s been here before because of Will.

“We weren’t done yet.” He takes his hand and slips in son my waist. He pulls me in tight and goes back to my neck.

“Stop it!” I shriek.

“Come on, we both know what you’re capable of. Let’s go to your bedroom.” He tries to move me towards the steps, but I fight back. He picks me up, throws my over his shoulder and takes me upstairs.

“Stop!” I scream. Ryan throws me onto the bed and takes off his shirt. I try to crawl off but he dives on top. “Get off!” I scream at him.

“Chill. It will only be a few short minutes.” He slips his hand under my shirt and takes it off with one swift movement. He unfastened my bra and tries to slip it off my shoulders. With my free hand I slap him across the face.

“GET OFF!” I kick my legs and start hiting him with my arms. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I look like a little child throwing a temper tantrum.

“Chill. It was just a booty call.” He gets off and walks to my night stand looking at the pictures I have. “So what? This is your boyfriend?” He asks holding up a picture of Josh. I’m in shock and can’t move.

“Well?” Ryan fastens his shorts while looking at me.

“Uhh. Yeah. The one from school this morning.”

“Right. Well, not too bad. Nice work kid.” I jump off the bed and push him out of my room, down the steps, and out the front door.

“Stay away!” I call, locking the door.

I walk down the front hall into the kitchen. There’s a plate of cookies, mom must have baked them last night. I grab one and bite into it. It’s still soft just the way I like it. As I grab myself a cup from the cupboard I see the note on the table.
