After our run in with Percy, we finally made it to the feast, albeit very late. Once we'd given reason to our absence, however, I quickly jumped into telling our friends that George and I had something big planned for Graham Montague tomorrow.
I explained to Fred and Jasper in particular that we'd need their help pulling off what we had in mind and, unsurprisingly, they offered to assist in a heartbeat, agreeing to talk with us in their dorm about everything later.
When the feast had concluded, I sprinted to catch Adrian before he went down to the dungeons for the night. I had some important questions to ask him regarding Graham. George and I had brainstormed how we wanted to go about using the products I'd gotten from Zonko's on Halloween, but we couldn't be completely sure of our plan without knowing exactly what Graham did in a normal day. None of it would work if we didn't align it with his schedule. Given that we hated him with a passion, the two of us had never taken the time to learn this about him. However, Adrian, although despising him just the same, was his housemate and therefore had to have some kind of idea. After all, they even shared a dormitory.
He was confused by my questions, but Adrian gave me all the information I needed to know in order to make our pranks flawless. When I told him exactly what it was we were doing and then asked if he could meet me outside the Slytherin Common Room at 6:30 tomorrow morning, he was hesitant. He didn't want me to get in trouble, but eventually caved into my pleas to let me do this and assist me with a minor task. After all, Graham would be getting what he deserved.
I thanked him for all his help and then caught up with my three Gryffindor boys again, ascending the castle together all the way to their dormitory. Having wished to stay in the dark and be surprised with the rest of the school tomorrow, our other friends stayed behind to chat in the common room for awhile.
There in their room, George and I took turns explaining every step of the following day, laying down each level of pranking and how exactly our two brothers would be helping us.
"Now wait a minute," Fred had asserted once we'd finished. "Didn't you say originally this was supposed to be a 'day of hell' for Montague?"
"Yes," I drawled.
"But... everything you just told us doesn't even make it halfway through the day," Jasper pointed out.
"Right. Our pranks don't," I confirmed, gesturing to myself and George. "That's because we saved room for you two. Don't you both wanna torment him with other mischief of your own creation for the rest of the day?"
They looked to one another, cheeky grins slowly cracking.
"So are you in?" George asked hopefully.
"Of course we're in!" Fred answered for the both of them.
"But let me get this straight—" said Jasper. "You're telling me most of what we just talked about was your idea?" he pointed to me suspiciously.
"That's right," nodded George.
"Well, no—" I cut in, "George initiated it, taking me to Zonko's. It was a team effort, really—"
"Oh, don't be modest, Pierce," he told me. "It was you that picked the products, and you that decided to split them up into separate tiers of pranks. Rather devious. A secret mastermind, you are," he smirked.
