{ A/N: Wholesome summer content this chapter!

The title of this chapter is actually the name of a song I like ("Daft Pretty Boys" by Bad Suns) and I just think that title perfectly embodies the boys in Nova's friend group lol, so I just had to use it for this update.

Check out the song, if you'd like :-) it's got a summer-y feel to it! }

It wasn't often that I said I was relieved to be away from Hogwarts, but after the wild past year I'd just had there, I desperately needed a break from all of the stress and chaos I'd been put through. I fully welcomed my summer vacation when I stepped off the train at Kings Cross, knowing it'd provide me with one.

Sure enough, I spent a very relaxing and peaceful first week of the summer at home in Castle Combe with my mum and Jasper, but when the second week rolled around, my brother and I packed up our bags and went to our family's manor for a month.

Now, obviously I was excited about this because it meant I'd be able to visit my grandparents and catch up with them after not having seen them since New Year's Eve. However, staying at the manor also meant it wouldn't be long until I got to see my friends again. Why did it mean that, you might ask? Because our friends were going to spend a night with my brother and I here so we could all utilize the amazing lake we had in our backyard.

And, as you could imagine, that was going to be incredibly fun and exciting. It was always an interesting experience when all of my wild friends were together—especially when none of us had a single thought about homework on our minds and we weren't under the constant supervision of adults—but when you added a lake into the mix, it was surely going to be even more entertaining than usual.

Additionally, George would be coming over as well which I was absolutely thrilled about. I couldn't wait to see him again because I'd begun to miss him a lot, even though it hadn't been too terribly long since I'd seen him last. He'd kept his word to keep up with me and he even called me a few times on the telephone which I was obviously thankful for, but neither of those things were ever as good as being physically next to him.

I couldn't wait to just be in George's presence and get to spend time with him and my friends again, so the days leading up to our get-together I was practically bouncing around the manor with excitement.

Finally, the day my friends would be coming over rolled around. They'd be arriving here at the manor any minute now, shooting out of the fireplace in our parlor from the Floo Network.

To prepare for the hungriness that my friends (especially the boys) would surely face once they'd gotten here, I'd spent the past half hour or so in the kitchen helping our house elves Penny and Sonny make a whole bunch of sandwiches and treats for everyone to enjoy under the summer sun.

I'd just begun squeezing fresh lemonade by hand when I heard a loud pop, letting me know one of our friends had just gotten here. Gradually, more pops and the steady hum of conversation could be heard once more of my friends had arrived and I smiled, so ready to spend today and tomorrow with them all.

I was almost done preparing the food and drinks and was just about to go join my guests when I heard footsteps entering the kitchen from behind me.

"Oh, Jasper," I said, figuring it was my brother coming to check on me and the status of the food, "Here, you can help me carry these—"

Suddenly a pair of big arms snaked around my waist from behind, a face nestling into the crook of my neck and immediately making me jump from surprise.
