Part 21: The Crystalizer

I frantically try to push the wolf off, but to no avail. Whoever it is pushes out from behind some bushes.

"You can let her go now." A deep, smooth voice says.

The wolf gets off of me, but circles around like a vulture. The figure comes over to me. They're wearing a black long cloak and black mask. It's like looking into the void. They stand over me.

"So good to finally mean you, Raven. You will last a while." He says crouching down towards me.

For some reason I can't move. I can't speak. I can't run.

He puts three fingers on my forehead. I feel a surge of energy through my body. It feels like I'm on fire. Suddenly everything goes dark.

I wake up, I don't know how long I've been out. I look around. I'm in some sort of cave? The walls are smooth and a deep purple color. A light is coming from somewhere, but I don't know where. I stand up being careful of my leg, but it doesn't hurt anymore.

So you got captured, huh? I was really rooting for you too.

A masculine voice inside my head says.

Who are you? Where are you?

I ask back, realizing that my voice isn't coming out like normal. I don't know how to describe it. It's almost like an echo. An echo that doesn't actually make noise.

I'm next to you, but my bright glow was lost a while ago.

Your glow?

I see. You've yet to fully understand. I am a crystal and now you are one too. The man who turned you into that is known as the Crystalizer, for obvious reasons. Us crystals are used as energy sources in experiments and inventions until we... Until we no longer have a glow.

I stand there, processing everything. How long has this been happening? What kind of inventions?

I don't even know what to ask at this point.

His chuckle echos in my head.

Have you been watching me this entire time??

Not really watching. I could sense your energy. If you focus you can sense anyone with abilities. Try to sense the Crystalizer's power.

I close my eyes. Repeating my mantra azarath metrion zinthos. My focus narrows and I can now sense the Crystalizer. His power energy.... It feels like a heavy weight. There's someone next to him, an animal like energy.

You pick up quickly. The one you sense is the Hero Hunter.

Suddenly on the edge of my senses I pick up a familiar energy. An energy I long to have next to me again.

Garfield.

I touch the crystal that is caging me. I can feel the energy pulsing through the walls.

It's no use, I've tried to break out for ages. Even if you broke out there is no guarantee your powers would rema-.

I focus all my energy in one spot. Then I let out a large amount of power. I close my eyes, hearing the crystal beneath my fingers shatter.

Suddenly I'm on the ground. I hear a yell behind. I whip my head to see who it is. Chris, the Hero Hunter, and the Crystalizer are standing there. The Crystalizer's pocket is torn open. I notice a crystal that is almost black beside me.
