Five Years

Part 14: Unexpected

Raven's pov

"Friend Raven, I need to tell you something..." Star says.

Her hands are fidgeting. I place a hand on top of hers to calm her.

"What's going on Star?" I ask calmly.

"Previous Teen Titan Terra will be at the meeting." Star blurts out quickly.

She's staring at me nervously, waiting for a reaction. I honestly don't know how to feel about it.

"Okay." Is all I can manage to say.

"Are you the okay?" She asks concerned.

"Yes, I'm okay. Don't worry about it Star." I say patting her hand.

Star relaxes and smiles at me. The pilot announces that we are 10 minutes away from take off over the intercom. Gar comes in to the plane, he was taking a call from Cyborg outside. Star gets up and sits across from me to let Gar sit next to me.

I hold his hand, trying to keep my mind off of Terra and repeat my mantra azarath metrion zinthos in my head. I might be selfish here, but I don't want to tell him about Terra. I take a deep breath to keep myself calm. Hopefully everything will be okay.

Several hours later

We all start getting up and collecting our bags once we land. Star gets off the plane first while Gar and I are fishing our bags from the overhead compartment.

I can feel the dread seep in as we get closer to seeing Terra. I have to focus on my breathing to keep my powers under control.
We walk off the jet and on to the runway. A large black car is waiting to take us to the mansion.

It only takes us 15 minutes to reach the mansion. I can see Cyborg and Bumblebee coming out from the entrance to greet us. As we step out of the car, I see Terra come outside.

My emotions overwhelm me. Fear, jealousy, anger, they all start flowing at the sight of her. I can feel my emotions taking over.

"Rae..." I hear Gar say.

His voice seems so distant. I'm losing control and I can't stop it. My powers burst out, taking the shape of a giant shadow in front of me. The shadow snakes across the ground towards Terra. Just as the shadow reaches her, a woman steps in-between.

I can feel the shadow retract back to me, disappearing. I drop to my knees, in shock from my powers going out of control.

"Now, that was a close one. Wasn't it deary?" A familiar voice says.

I look up to see Beth, my boss, standing in front of me.

"Are you alright?" She reaches out a hand.

I shake my head, unable to speak or take her outstretched hand. I look around me. The cement around me is cracked, Star and Gar are knocked out from the force of my powers, Cyborg and Bee are quickly helping Star and Gar, and Terra is looking upset. I feel awful.

I open a portal. To where? Anywhere but here.

Beast Boy's pov

I wake up in a white walled room with four beds. A line of cabinets line one wall with medical instruments and one sink in the center. I must be in the infirmary.

My head is pounding. I don't know what happened after Rae's powers went out of control. I just remember a large dark shadow overpowering me and knocking me out.

I sit up and see Star in a bed beside me, but where's Rae?

"Ah good, you are awake. How are you feeling?" Alfred asks as he enters the room.

"Like I got hit by a bus." I reply.

"I see, I shall get you some medication to get rid of the pain." Alfred says, opening a cabinet and grabbing a bottle.

"Where is Rae?" I ask him as he hands me three pills.

He gets a glass and fills it with water.

"We are currently unsure of where Miss Roth has gone." He replies, handing me the glass.

I take the pills and hand the glass back.

"I'll go find her." I say, pushing my way out of bed.

"No you will not. You are to stay here until you feel better. You are currently far too needed. Nightwing and I will track her down." Alfred says, putting a hand on my shoulder to stop me.

The door opens and Batman enters.

"It's good to see you're doing better. Alfred, Nightwing needs you." Batman informs Alfred.

Alfred nods and leaves me alone with Batman.

"I want to help search for Rae." I say determined to be involved.

"I'm sorry, but we need you. Even more so now that Raven has disappeared. I'll inform everyone at dinner tonight why I gathered you all." He says.

He closes the discussion down.

"Also, I want you to rest up here for now. You can also monitor your friend Starfire here. Please press this button, it will inform me or Alfred when she wakes." Batman says.

I just nod. I obviously won't be allowed to help search for Rae. I'll just have to do it in secret when no one is around.

I lay back down and soon fall asleep.

I wake up to the sound of shifting. I turn and see Star waking up. I start to get up to press the button, but I realize there is a hand on my forearm.

I turn to the person. A blond woman has her head resting on the side of the bed with a hand on me. I soon recognize the figure.
