Owen POV
While walking up to the hill, Knox and i were fairly quiet not really knowing what to say. I was tempted to bring up the kiss but i didn't, no matter how much i wanted to. Knox might say i'm lying and not want to be my friend anymore. I've been friends with Knox for 12 years, hell i don't even remember what life was like before Knox so losing him would be like the end of the world.
Soon enough we got to the hill where we went to the burger van and waited in line. Where we live there's a place called the hill with a burger van with food to die for, it over looks the whole city. It has a trail that leads down to the beach where Knox and i usually sit after we've eaten our food.
After we got our food, Knox and i sat down on a bench looking at all the street lamps lighting up next to the sea. I leaned my head on Knox's shoulder while i ate my chips as he had a burger. Since i never eat as much as Knox, he ended up finishing the chips before we started the trail down to the beach.
We both sat down on the sand listening to the waves that rolled near our feet but not quite getting us. I let out a small sigh as we sat in silence.
"What's up?" Knox nudged my arm with his elbow a little.
"N-nothing, just got some things on my mind." I told him. Knox nodded and took his hand from his coat wrapping his arm around my shoulders pulling me to his side.
"Is it something i did last night? I don't want to be that friend who gets drunk and annoys someone." He stated.
"No, y-you didn't do anything." I lied. "Just t-thinking a-about something I-I c-can't seem to f-figure out." I huffed out.
"If you want to talk about it we can, i don't mind. Maybe i can help you out or just sit and listen to make up for dragging you out of the house at god knows what time in the morning." He chuckled.
"I-I'm g-good. It's nothing for you t-to w-worry about a-at the moment. And it's not y-you, it's m-me." I sighed.
"Sounds like you're breaking up with me. It's not you it's me." Knox mimicked my voice, well tried to but failed and ended up sounding like a girl.
"I-I do not s-sound like that." I playfully glared at him.
"You do!" He laughed. "It's like your balls haven't dropped yet or something. Like a wittle baby." He pinched my cheek and spoke in a baby voice. I slapped his hand away and rolled my eyes looking at the sea again. "I'm just playing Owen, don't be mad at me please."
"I know." I nodded and kept on looking out to the sea.
"Wanna get in?" Knox laughed a little.
"N-no, we don't have trunks a-and it's f-freezing." I shook my head with a small smile.
"Come on, you look like you want to get in. We don't need trunks we can go in our boxers, or naked if you really want to." He nudged me with his elbow. I rolled my eyes and shook my head gesturing i don't want to get in.
"Suit yourself." Knox stood up and started taking his clothes off. Once he was in his boxers he ran to the water screaming making me laugh at the goofiness Knox always seemed to show. He dived into the water but didn't come back up. My smile slowly faded the longer Knox stayed under the water.
"Knox." I yelled. No answer. "Knox?" I yelled a little louder once again getting no answer. My heart started beating rapidly from the lack of answer that i was getting. I stood up and took off my coat leaving my clothes on. I quickly ran to the water and went in where Knox was. I only went in to my belly to look around to see if i could see the larger male.
"KNOX!" I yelled again shivering from the coldness of the wind and sea swaying me a little. Arms wrapped themselves around my waist making me jump with a squeal and slap the person behind me. Knox groaned and held his cheeks with one hand while the other was still around my waist.
"I-I'm s-so sorry Knox." I quickly got out and held the hand the was on his cheek, the guilt building up.
"It's alright. Damn you have a mean slap bro." He groaned. After a few seconds he looked at me taking both his and my hands from his face. My bottom lip quivered with tears forming upon seeing the red hand print on his cheek.
I quickly moved around Knox who gave me a confused look. "Where are you going? Owen? Stop, what's wrong?" Knox followed me out of the water. I wrapped my arms around myself biting my bottom lip trying to stop myself from crying. I hit Knox, he won't want to be my friend after this.
"Owen stop for fuck sake." Knox held my arm while we both stood on the sand. Even with my body facing him, my eyes stayed on the sand where i then realised i didn't take my shoes off before going into the water. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"I-I h-hit y-you." My bottom lip quivered again keeping my eyes on the sand. My voice cracked as i tried to keep the tears back but failed. Tear after tear fell down my cheeks, the guilt eating me up.
"Owen it's okay." Came his soft voice as he wrapped his arms around me, pulling my body to his chest. "I scared you, in result you hit mw which is fine. Owen your reflexes kicked in, so what? Don't cry you big baby, i'm fine." He chuckled.
I nodded but it still didn't stop me from feeling guilty about it. Knox held my wrist pulling me back to where our stuff was. I put my coat on hoping it would warm me up a bit. Once Knox had all his clothes on, we started walking back to his house in silence.
"Are you going to ignore me all night?" Knox sighed.
"N-no." I mumbled back. Once again Knox sighed and didn't say anything else after that. Soon enough we got back to his house where i got my pyjamas from my bag and went to Valerie's room to use her shower. She always told me to use it if i ever wanted to get away from Knox or if he was using his one.
Once i was warm and in my pyjamas, i went back to Knox's room where he was laid on his bed looking through his phone. A stupid smirk on his face making me roll my eyes and lay on the edge of his bed closing my eyes.
I heard Knox sigh then put his phone on his bedside table, his arm pulled me to him where he laid his cheek on my chest. He got my hand and put it to his hair, once again i ran my fingers through it with one hand and the other just barely around his back. That's just how small i am.
"I'm fine Owen. Forget about it and stop not talking to me. I don't like it when you're not talking to me." Knox stated. With that, we both fell asleep with my figer
