Mystic Falls, Virginia
The Salvatore Boarding SchoolThe same day.
"Where exactly do you think you're going?!" Poppy asked with an incredulous tone. She stormed towards the car Roman and Hope stood at, hidden by trees and shrub. They both spun around the look at her like deer caught in headlights. "Binding yourself, Hope? After we told you not to." The tribrid walked to the opened car door and slammed it shut, causing Hope to flinch, whereas Roman watched with curiosity. "Do you even have a brain?"
Hope gave her sister a frown. "I'm trying to save my mom, Poppy. It's not like anyone else is trying."
"You have no idea what we're dealing with, Hope. These vampires are Nazis much older than I am, and they will do anything to make sure that you," she pointed at her sister "and Dad, and Hayley, and I are all dead. Just like what they did to Henry."
"But Greta-"
"You're seriously going to believe what Greta said?!" Poppy took a deep breath after yelling, trying to calm down before her magic started to act up. "Stop arguing with me, you're not going." The tribrid reached forward and grabbed Hope's arm with a firm grip so she wouldn't get in the car.
As a knee jerk response, Hope raised her other hand to use her magic for an aneurysm spell on her sister. Poppy winced audibly and closed her eyes, letting go of her sister and bringing her hands to her head. Hope took a few steps back, pushing Roman behind her to protect him. After a moment of pain, the tribrid clenched her jaw and took deep breaths, letting out a low growl. She opened her eyes the reveal her transformed face (glowing blue eyes and dark red surrounding them, vampire veins on her skin, hybrid teeth, the works). "A fine attempt, little girl." Poppy spoke as her teeth and eyes returned to normal. "I am giving you ten seconds then drop your bags and go back inside."
Hope was now officially scared of her older sister, but that wouldn't stop her from binding herself. Her eyes filled with tears. "You're just upset, and I'm sorry but that's not going to stop me!"
Poppy's breathing continued to be heavy, her chest rising and falling with each deep breath that she took. She could feel energy swirl inside of her, rising more and more. It was dark energy, not her usual warm energy. No, Poppy thought to herself. I'm better than this. "Hope-"
"You almost killed yourself to save Stefan, so why are you stopping me from trying to bind myself to save my mom?" Hope pushed further, narrowing her eyes.
"I'm trying to protect you!"
Hope shook her head. "No, you're scaring me!"
"You're scared?!" Poppy exclaimed. "You should be scared, because I'm terrified. I'm done giving you a chance to turn around willingly." With the snap of her finger, Hope fell to the ground, sound asleep. Roman caught her before she could hit the ground completely, and he gently lowered her. Poppy narrowed her eyes at him, swallowing her fear and turning it into anger. Roman looked at her and slowly stood back to his full height. "Don't think I don't recognize you from the church. I'll give you one chance to tell me everything you planned on doing with my sister."
Roman sighed, tucking his fingers into his pockets. "I was going to take her to her mom and perform the binding spell. All my mom wants is peace, we just have to perform the spell and we'll let her go."
Poppy's eyes widened in surprise. Hayley was alive, that was a good thing, and Roman knew exactly where she was. After the show she put on for Hope, how would she convince Roman to take her to the site they held the hybrid? She wasn't fooled by his words, when he told her all his mother wanted was peace. His mother wanted them dead, and the binding spell was the first step to getting that done.
