Dear Elena,

A few weeks ago, you said goodbye and told us to write everything down so you'd feel like you didn't miss anything when you woke up. Bad news first: Damon said the best way to keep his mind off you was to help Alaric grieve. So, in common Damon-fashion, he kidnapped Ric and flew him to Europe for a guy-getaway. I'm sure you can imagine how that's going. Obviously, we didn't send them there without a chaperone. So, Damon's watching out for Alaric, Bonnie's watching out for Damon, and I don't know exactly who's watching out for Bonnie. Poppy is now four months pregnant. She's happy, but I think she's also missing her mom..or Hayley. I've been planning her the best baby shower ever! Matt will officially be Deputy Donovan next week when he graduates. As happy as I am for him, a big part of me wishes my mom was hear to see it. The Town Council gave her a bench. I've been visiting it, hoping I'll miraculously start missing her less. I keep thinking that if I can heal, I can move on with my life, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Anyway, I covered Damon, Bonnie, Ric, Poppy, Matt... Who am I missing? Right, Stefan. As I was saying, things are great.

Love,

Caroline

The Town Square

Dearest Elena,

I hope that when you are reading this, you are in good health, and you're smiling. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting in the town square on a bench with Stefan while Silas shops for baby shower, which Caroline is planning, supplies. The weather is perfect. I'm happy, though hormones can be a bitch.

August marks the fourth month of the pregnancy, and I'll be going to the doctor later today for a checkup. My belly isn't terribly big, but if you saw it you could easily tell I'm pregnant.

I know Caroline has been filling you in on events, so I'll save you the retelling, but one thing has struck me odd as of late. There's this one woman, she's a witch (I can sense her). She's just been watching me whenever we're in the same area as each other.

I hope to see you again.

-xoxo, Poppy

Poppy closed her journal and put her purple pen into her purse, squinting even though she wore sunglasses. She pressed a hand against her belly, feeling a bit of movement, and leaned back.

"Is it moving again?" Stefan asked the soon-to-be mom.

His adoptive daughter looked at him. "Yeah," she replied, tilting her head to rest it on his bicep. Stefan kept his arms crossed over his chest in a relaxed way. "Do you like her?"

"Who?"

Poppy rolled her eyes and moved her head off of him. "Don't pretend that you don't know who I'm talking about. I can read you like an open book." He did say anything. "Caroline!"

Stefan gave her a slight smirk, because he knew he couldn't hide his emotions from her that well, especially when it came to crushes.

"See! I knew it." His adoptive daughter nudged his side. "Things are awkward between you two, go talk to her and fix it so you can ask her on a date."

"Fine." Stefan said, standing up. He leaned down and placed a kiss on Poppy's forehead. "Love you."

Poppy smiled as he began to walk away. "Love you too!" She kept her smile, but averted her eyes to the witch that had been watching her, and currently was, sitting on a bench nearby with a journal in her lap.
