Mystic Falls, Virginia
The Salvatore Boarding Home/Woods
The morning air was crisp and a bit foggy, creating a thin translucent blanket hovering inches off of the ground of the woods, wrapping around trees and plants. The sky was still a bit dark, and grey in color. In the woods was a path made for walking and jogging, which is exactly what Poppy and Silas were doing.
The pair had been doing the morning jogs after dropping the kids off st preschool since then night Poppy killed Arcadius, as a way to get outside and away from drama and their lives for an hour. It gave the pair time to think, and to be together. They were doing well, what happened...happened. It was in the past. That didn't mean Poppy didn't wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares, though.
Poppy stopped, letting out a heavy breath and turning her head to look around. She couldn't get rid of the dreadful feeling in her gut that she had been feeling the whole morning. She looked at her husband, who stopped a few feet ahead of her and was just now turning to look at her. The tribrid took off her plain black cap, which her ponytail was sticking out of, and wiped the sweat from her forehead before putting it back on.
"You okay?" Silas asked, walking to stand with his wife.
She sighed. "I can't shake the feeling of dread." She told him, placing her hands on her hips, her breathing calming from the jogging she had done. "I need to sit down." Turning around, Poppy walked to a large stump and she sat down, placing her elbows on her knees and placing her face in her hands.
Silas joined her, sitting beside her and placing a hand on her back, rubbing up and down. Poppy sat up, tilting her head back a bit. She took a deep breath through her nose and released it from her mouth. The feeling of dread remained, swirling around within her. She didn't understand it, she didn't know where it came from, until the blood dripped from her nose and she slipped into a vision.
Poppy stood in the Town Square, her legs in excruciating pain, the smell of smoke filling her nose and going into her lungs. She looked down, and she was on fire...well her dress was. Looking around, she saw that everything was on fire around her.
"Ah!" She cried out as the flames licked up her legs. "Help me! Somebody help!"
Poppy gasped as she woke up from the vision, opening her eyes to look up at the cloudy grey sky and the branches of the trees of the woods. She took deep breaths, but was calmed by someone brushing their fingers through her hair, her head in their lap.
"You're okay, I've got you." Finn spoke to her.
Poppy furrowed her eyebrows and sat up, looking at her uncle, who sat on the forest ground with her. "Finn? What're you doing here?" She asked in confusion.
"I had a feeling I should come see you." He told her. "My feeling was correct. How are your legs?"
With a frown, his niece looked down at her legs, which had fast healing blisters on them, and the bottoms of her leggings had burnt off. She looked back at her uncle. "What the hell happened?"
Finn shrugged. "You tell me, when I came here your legs were on fire and you were unconscious."
"I just remember that I was jogging with Silas, and then I had a vision...speaking of-" she looked around her "-where is he?"
Her uncle frowned. "Silas has been in New Orleans with the kids since yesterday."
She nodded, and from her jacket pocket she pulled out a crystal, and set in on the ground. "I know, but that's not going to stop me from seeing him. This crystal lets us see and talk to each other. I made it." She smirked, feeling proud of herself. She sighed and stood up on her feet, walking back to her stump where her ringing phone was. She answered it and raised it to her ear. "Hello?"
