"Hello, Bretty!!"
A happy, confident, shy, loving, soft and energetic voice quietly said into the phone. "HI!" Brett whisper yelled on the other side. "I have to go to sleep, else mommy is going to ban me from bubble tea. You know her punishments!" Brett whispered, smiling. "Yeah babe." Brett and Eddy both plopped on their beds, though in different houses, their actions were the same. "I had fun today, and um, thanks for kissing back." Eddy shyly said, clawing his pillow in embarrassment after their cute first date. Brett blushed, getting underneath the blankets. "I like you, Eddy." Brett whispered once more, voice softer than ever. "Me too, Bretty."
Brett soon started lulling to sleep, and Eddy senses it. His words began slurring, though the smile was plastered on his face. Weird it may seem, but Eddy could picture Brett right then. Half closed eyelids, smiling, face shining form the moonlight outside his window. Eddy started humming Sibelius, Brett's favorite concerto. He has spent enough time with him to know what he liked, when he liked and why he liked what he did. Heavy breathes equivalent to soft snores were audible on Eddy's end, signifying his lover was asleep.
The wind was slow outside, a cat meowing softly was the only thing Eddy heard before he whispered a faint 'I love you' over the speaker and declined the call. He too fell asleep, peacefully, forgetting about any worries, mind only filled with Brett's smiling face and his sweet laughter. A star zoomed past both their houses, as if sealing Eddy's promise. Brett shuffled around, unconsciously awaiting for another day to spend with his newly found love.
A promise of three words broke so many barriers, and began a new adventure. Memories after memories were left for them to remember. The brain's palette was yet to be filled, with colors from their tomorrows.
But it was up to fate to decide the colors.
