"Ooh, Jade, you have to try this on. It'll look great on you!" Silver flashes a short, light blue dress with polka-dots in front of Jade's eyes, causing Jade's hairs to stand on end.
Silver, Jade, and Ancrua are at one of Magix City's many department stores, browsing through the seemingly endless racks and shelves of clothes.
"No, no, absolutely not! What do I look like, a clown?" Jade stumbles back, knocking into a rack of clothes that all collapse onto her.
Silver and Ancrua chuckle as Jade pulls a sweatshirt off of her head, "Nothing here is really...speaking to me. Everything's too bright, too short, too...colorful."
Silver crosses her arms as Ancrua helps her up, "But that's what makes these clothes so much fun! Oh! I have an idea!"
She grabs Jade by the wrist, yanking her along as she runs through the store. With Ancrua close behind, Silver makes a beeline for the makeup department.
"You'll never find the right clothes if you don't have a totally awesome new look to match!" Silver shouts, as she throws Jade into one of the makeup chairs.
Scurrying up to one of the makeup artists, Silver taps her on the shoulder to get her attention.
"Hi, my sister's in the market for a new look. Can you give her something...drastic?" Silver whispers to the stylist.
The woman turns to Jade, with her long, dark forest green hair and matching lipstick. She gives a shrug, waving to the woman. The makeup artist jerks back in surprise.
"Uhm...I'll...I'll see what I can do," she mumbles with a hesitant tone.
The stylist grabs several makeup palettes, brushes, shampoo bottles, and a hair dryer. Piling it all up in her arms, Silver follows her as she goes to work on Jade.
Ancrua sticks close to Silver, as they watch a cloud of hair product and blush completely cover Jade and the makeup artist. Silver and Ancrua cover their eyes as some of the dust comes their way, but soon the stylist is finished, and steps away from Jade for the final reveal.
Jade's shaggy, dark green hair is now in a high ponytail, with light green eyeshadow and pink lipstick.
Silver claps with excitement, "Oh my gosh, Jade! You look awesome!"
She runs up to her sister to get a better look, as Jade glances in the nearby department store mirror, "This...doesn't feel quite right..."
"Don't be silly! You look great! It's almost like you're a Fairy!" Silver jumps for joy, blind to Jade's reaction.
Jade's eyes narrow, as she grits her teeth. She pushes her sister away.
"No! Silver, I don't wanna be a Fairy! And you can't change me!" Jade protests, as she marches out of the department store, wiping the makeup off of her face.
Silver bolts after Jade, but Ancrua stops her, "You didn't mean to hurt her. She needs some time alone."
With a worried expression, Silver nods, letting her go.
As Jade leaves the store, she rips the hair tie off, letting her hair fall over her face.
"Hey look, it's a Witch!"
Jade looks up as a shopper on the street stops, pointing to her. As more people stop and glance at Jade, more comments come from the crowd.
"What's a Witch doing in Magix City?"
"She's here to bring destruction, like all Witches!"
"You can tell she's a Witch, look at how ugly she is!"
Tightening her fists, Jade rises. Her hands start to spark with dark green magic, as it creates an aura around her. Her hair starts to flutter, as she grows stronger.
"Leave...me...alone!"
In a burst of green fire, Jade's disappeared, causing the crowd to gasp and reel back. Silver and Ancrua run out to see what'd happened, but all they find is a scorch mark on the ground where Jade had been.
"Where did she go?" Silver asks, "What did she do..."
A bright portal of dark green energy swirls to life in the middle of Jade's dorm room, as Jade is thrown out of the portal. Landing on her face, Jade sits up, scratching her head.
"Still getting the hang of those teleportation spells?" Dec asks, his tone containing only a hint of condescension.
"I don't know. Sometimes if I'm angry or confused, it just...happens," Jade explains, as she slumps down onto her bed.
As she lies on her bed, staring up at the ceiling, Jade covers her eyes with her hands as she realizes, "Oh no...I left Silver and Ancrua back in Magix City."
Dec jumps up onto the bed, as Jade's arms fall back to her side, "Oh well, they won't want to be around me anyway after that embarrassment."
"Don't be so sure. Remember, my Witch, Fairies are about friendship and forgiveness and all that lovey-dovey goop. Especially that naive sister of yours," he reminds her, seating himself next to her, his tail swishing back and forth.
Jade sits up, glancing down at her hands, "Silver...she wants me to become a Fairy, I can tell. She wants me to go to Alfea with her so I can be with Ancrua and all of her other friends-"
"What other friends?" Dec questions with a raised eyebrow, "You have noticed that Ancrua, her roommate no less, is the only friend she seems to have?"
"And I'm surrounded by scores of friends? Even if Ancrua is Silver's only friend, I'm not going to judge her for that," Jade shrugs, before a thought crosses her mind.
"You know, maybe I should just become a Fairy. It might not be what I truly feel I am, but at least it'll save me all the ridicule. My sister, my family, random people on the street-"
Jade shrieks. She looks down to find that Dec is chomping down on her arm, his feline teeth pushing into the fabric of her shirt.
"Don't. Ever. Say that again. You are a Witch inside, Jade, no matter what Silver, or anyone else may want. It's a very Fairy thing to say, but you have to be true to yourself," Dec pleads, rubbing the bitten area with his cheek.
Jade smiles, before reaching down to pet him on the forehead, "Thank you, Dec. What would I do without you?"
