It was the day before the expedition. I was thinking about how I could prepare my squad. They are a bunch of idiots who don't know how to defend themselves. Losers. Only Emilia knows how to slay a titan, and I will take her with me to Levi's Squad. 

"Alright Squad, today we will prepare ourselves for the 57th expedition that is happening tomorrow. I have taught you how to defend, attack, and assist.

This is really important information that will save you one day. You never know when and where titans will attack. I will review your defensive and attack skills today. I expect you to work as hard as you can." 

"Yes, Ma'am." They all said in unison while saluting. Oh, how fun it was to be the boss of these idiots. We usually train together 5 days a week but sometimes I don't have the time to or I have something else to do. 

Emilia has been training them these past 2 weeks. I was busy with work and planning the expedition. 

"Emilia come over here and show them how you properly hold your swords. I expect you to know this." I said and she saluted.

As she showed them how to do it the right way I paid more attention to my other squad members to see if they were paying attention.

I will make my last day with them amazing, and with amazing I mean terrible for them. 

I saw that two of my squad members, Eric and Savannah, talking and not paying attention. "Eric and Savannah come over here. Emilia great job!" I said and smiling at Emilia.

She knew how to do all the stuff that was important in both fighting people and titans. I smirked as I knew that Eric and Savannah were two of my weakest. 

"Now you guys can show the other squad members how to hold your swords." I knew they didn't know this. That was the reason I picked them out.

I'm going to have so much fun today. I studied them and saw they held it the wrong way.

"You're doing it wrong," I said in a monotone. They were shocked at my words because I usually don't say things like that in such a straight forward way. 

"You should start paying attention instead of having conversations with each other." I snapped. They nodded and walked back to the group. "Oi Y/n don't you think you're a little harsh on them." I heard a voice coming from behind me. It was Levi.

"Tough talk coming from you who yells at their squad members all day long." I snapped once again. I wasn't in the mood for this. 

"Emilia you take over, I'm going to have a conversation with this gremlin" I laughed and they all looked shocked at the way I insulted him without being scared. Levi looked at me with anger in his eyes. Oh if eyes could kill, I'd be dead, 

"Come on Shorty," I said motioning him to follow me. He did as I said which surprised me, but it's not like he had a choice. We walked in silence towards the officers' quarters and sat down on the chairs that were around the firepit.  

"So I guess you've heard about it?" He asked. "Yes, I have. I'm taking Emilia with me." I replied. "Who? Your second in command? I've heard about her." He said with a small interest that he tried to hide.

"Yes. Do you like her or something? You're usually not this talkative." I grumbled. "I don't like anyone. I just want to know who you are going to take to be on my squad. I am just talking to you because we are going to be leading the same squad. Nothing else" Levi scoffed. 

I rolled my eyes and stood up. "I'm going back to those idiots." He also stood up and we went our separate ways. 

I made it back to my squad and saw that Emilia was doing a great job teaching the squad. I'm proud of her and she deserves to be in an elite squad. "Hey Emilia, can I talk to you?" I asked her and she nodded as she followed me.
