The Enchanted tree

Chapter 5

After an even longer flight home, Lola and Hailey rushed back to the tree and immediately started to take care of it and Conner ran into his science lab and immediately tested the "sap" and was surprised by what he had found! It was a fake!

"Jacob! Come here! It's an emergency!" cried Conner

"Yes? What's the emergency?" questioned Jacob

"I just tested the sap and it's fake! It's just cranberry juice. How could I have not seen that before I tested it! Gosh I'm so stupid, I thought it couldn't be that easy" Conner said

"You're not stupid. But why do you need me again?" Jacob explained

"Ah yes. I need you to tell Hailey and Lola that the sap is fake. Someone has the real sap or it's still in Uruguay." Conner said worryingly

"Alright."

Then Jacob ran as fast as he could to tell Hailey and Lola about the fake sap.

"A message from the spy. Conner tested the sap and it's fake. Someone must have the real stuff or it's still hidden in Uruguay."

"What! Seriously!" said Hailey

"Yes." Jacob said as he walked away

"We need to find who has the real sap" said Lola

"What if it's still in Uruguay?" asked Hailey in a tone that sounded like she didn't want to go back

"Then we go back!" Lola responded

"I have an idea. I'm going to talk to Andria and see what she says. She didn't go to Uruguay with us. She went with Will early. I think she's up to something."

"And me?" asked Lola

"Um. You can go with me or something. Help me talk to her I guess." said Hailey

"What about Will though, we have him don't we?" asked Lola

"What if he had the sap somewhere, all we need to do is get him to confess!" Hailey said

"But we have to go to Andria first." said Lola

Later that evening Hailey and Lola went to Andria and asked her about where the real sap was.

"Wait a minute. Isn't it obvious to them that they switched the saps and worked together?" asked Peter confused why they haven't figured it out yet

"No. I think you're just thinking that because we know that already in the story and they don't." said Francis making himself sound smart.

"But please just continue with the story!" Mia said

"Alright then." the dad said.

"Andria. We need to talk!" Hailey demanded being loud as she could

"What is it? If it's about Will I don't want to hear it." Andria said

"Well sorry, but you're gonna hear till the end of it." Lola said leaving Andria speechless

"Anyway. Do you know where the real sap is? What happened?" Hailey asked

"I think I should tell you guys only if Conner is here as well." said Andria calmly

"Sure." Lola said in suspicion

When Andria, Hailey and Lola got to the lab Andria finally told them the explanation of what happened and what Will told her,

"Long story short. Will paid for an early flight to Uruguay and told me to bring a bottle with cranberry juice. He had the sap in the other bottle and we switched the bottles so you guys couldn't find it. He thinks that the bottle with the real sap in it is in a storage room in Uruguay. What he also doesn't know is that I have the sap with me now, here. But you might want to test it first before you put it in the tree. You never know. I may have been triple crossed by Will. He is literally a criminal mastermind." Andria said with heavy breathing at the end of the explanation.

"Oh gosh! You backstabbed him! I'm impressed." said Lola

Later that night in Conners lab, Conner was testing the sap just in case it was a fake.

It took him all night but afterwards the testing paid off and it was for sure that that was the real sap. But as Conner was leaving his lab the following morning he remembered that they had not heard from Will for days after they caught him. But Conner shrugged it off and then went to tell Lola and Hailey the good news about the sap.

"Alright now it's really time for bed. I'll tell you the rest tomorrow night or whenever you want tomorrow. Just as long as I'm not busy with work. I love you all! The father said as he kissed them each on the forehead.

As the father left Francis had an idea.

"Peter, Mia, wait! I have a question. The way dad was describing Conner and Lola. It sounded familiar. I feel like we know people with the same personalities. Do we?"

"No. I don't think so." Mia said very positive.

"Yes we do. It's obviously Grandma and Grandpa from mom's side." Peter said

"Ok. Goodnight!" Francis then said as Mia and Peter were leaving his room.

The next night the father was telling Peter, Francis and Mia the story again from where they left off.

The next morning Conner went to find Hailey and Lola to tell them the sap information. Conner then said with excitement,

"Guys guess what! The sap came back positive!"

"What does that mean?" asked Lola

"It means the sap is the real stuff!" Conner responded back

"Yes!" Andria and Hailey said at the same time.

"Now we just need to put it back in the tree and it will be restored." said Conner

"But what about Will. We can't let him get away with this." said Andria

"True. We will tell the cops to arrest him." said Lola

"But before we do we must figure out what it did to him, he did drink it after all." said Hailey

"That's a good Idea!" Conner said excited to get testing the sap for what it does.
