Chapter 8: Moo Moo man, and an unfortunate situation

This chapter was meant to be shorter, but it ended up being a bit longer than I expected haha. Anyway, enjoy this chapter! Plus more art :)

-Zeus' POV-
Finally arriving in the Land of the Waves, Shin and I begin looking for my team. 'We probably will know where they are since that blonde kid never stops shouting.'
"Yeah.. most likely. Actually, are we lost?"
'...Yeah.' I deadpan and sigh, 'Of course I would get lost. This sucks.'
"And I can't trace my team's chakra, they seem to be too far and the chakra left behind is too small to try and trace. Do you think you could go ahead and find my team? I'll stay here, and maybe bring back someone to take me back?" Shin stares at me, and I could tell he was wondering why I wasn't just going to come with him."I'm going to look around for a bit." He hesitantly nods and runs ahead, as I look for some medicinal herbs. 'If I'm too late for their first meeting with Zabuza, I can at least maybe save him from a terrible fate in the future.' As I continue to gather some medicinal herbs I hear footsteps from behind me, "Gathering medicinal herbs?" I immediately knew that the soft voice speaking was Haku.
"Mhm. It's always nice to have some on you in case someone is injured." He walks over to me and crouches down to also gather some herbs."Do you know someone that is injured?" I ask him, already knowing the answer."Indeed..." I slightly frown, "May i help? I know we just met, but the least I can do is maybe give you some tips on helping them."His masked face turns to me, and he slightly tilts his head, 'Cute', I think in my mind.
"Offering a stranger help? How do you know that we aren't bad?" I smile softly and shake my head, "What constitutes someone who is bad and who is good? VIllain or hero? From what I can tell, you don't seem to be bad, I can tell. Everyone deserves some form of healing." I softly say and then continue, "I know someone... for all his life people viewed him as a bad and evil child, from the moment of his birth, he was hated and feared. He grew up believing no one loves him, and thus grew hateful of everyone, giving no mercy to anyone who goes against him. I know, for a fact, he isn't bad or evil. It's just because he was raised in a way where he could trust no one but himself..." Thinking about how Gaara becomes after the Chunin exam, and then becoming the Kazekage, I smile. Haku hums softly and turns to me again, "I'll trust you, to come and help."
~Timeskip~
Haku led me to where the injured Zabuza was. Finally arriving, he turned to me and said, "I'm trusting you to help him..." I smile slightly and nod, "I won't injure him nor you. I promise." He stared at me for a few more seconds before pushing the door open, "Zabuza-san, I'm back. With someone who can help." He walked into the room with me following close behind, and I quickly turned my attention to the injured Zabuza on what looked like a table."You sure we can trust him brat?" He groans as he slowly sits up, and I rush over and gently push him back down. "Don't try and sit up..." I look over him to assess his injuries and place my hands a few inches above his body."I'm going to perform a healing justus now, you can trust me. Although many people may say that, I know you could easily kill me if I put further harm on you." Zabuza stares at me for a bit longer and sighs, "Where are you from, brat?"
"A long way from here, but now I live in Konoha. I'm actually on a mission, and I was on my way from Sunagakure back to Konoha." I paused, trying to figure out how to warn him about Gato. "Actually, on my way back, I think I overheard a guy talking about killing someone after they finish killing a bridge builder... I didn't know what to make of it since my first mission was to just deliver a scroll." I sighed as I continued to heal Zabuza, who stared at me then glanced at Haku."Bridge builder you say... Do you recall the name of the bridge builder the man was talking about?"
"Yeah I think it was..." I snapped a few times to try and 'jog' my memory, "Yeah his name was Tazuna! I believe."Zabuza sighed and shook his head, "The name of the man talking... could you tell that his name was Gato?"
"Yeah? Is that name important to you?"
Zabuza nods in response, "Yeah. He hired me to kill the bridge builder, Tazuna, and he said he was going to pay me... I guess the payment was death." He gruffly laughs."I see.. Thank you for telling us this." Haku bows slightly towards me and I wave him off, "Don't worry about it. You're just trying to earn money, just, don't kill Tazuna? Maybe?" Zabuza stares at me before huffing, "You're on the team with Kakashi, aren't you?" My eyes slightly widen and I sigh, "You caught me..."
"Why are you saving us from our fate?" Haku barges into the conversation, and I turn to him and sadly smile. "Would you believe me, if in the future, someone used you, once again, to gain control of the ninja world?" Zabuza and Haku went quiet and stared at me, "Are you on something, brat?" I laughed and shook my head, "Nevermind."
"I guess you must have some big reason in order to save your enemies."
"You never were my enemy, Zabuza, Haku."
"How... how did you know my name?"
"I came from a place very far away, a place where I know your fate, your future, your past..." I sit down and heavily sigh, ruffling my hair a bit. "If you wish, I guess you could call me a Psychic." zabuza laughs loudly at my response, before cringing at the slight pain."Oi! Just because I healed you doesn't mean I did it completely. You still need to wrap up your injuries to keep them from getting infected." Zabuza pouts, almost in a childlike manner, "You're bossy just like Haku is."
"It's because you don't take care of yourself and thus I must have to."
"I'm an adult!"
"Well you don't exactly take care of yourself like an adult would. Anyway, you never did tell us your name, did you?"
"I didn't? My bad. I'm Zeus Kami, from the Kami Clan."
"The lost clan?" Zabuza's nonexistent eyebrows shot up in surprise and I nodded in response."What happened to you when they were all killed?"
"My parents sent me somewhere far away, so far you would never know..."
~Timeskip~
After deciding to stay with Zabuza and Haku for another day, I decided it was finally time to reunite with Team 7. They wanted to halfway escort me back to Tazuna's house and I didn't have the heart to decline. As we approached the bridge, I heard a familiar shout, "Get away from him!" I swiftly turned my head and saw Kakashi, a chidori formed in his hand as he ran at Zabuza. Before I knew it, I jumped in front of him to protect him, the chidori going through my stomach.
"hrk-"
"Zeus!" I hear multiple shouts of concern, but I can't hear anything over the blood rushing through my ears, my vision wavering as I fall into Kakshi's embrace."Zeus! W-Why would you protect us?!" Haku stammers, Kakshi gently putting me on the ground, his face paling and tears forming at the corner of his eyes.
"Y-You... "
"Don't talk! You need to save your energy, we need to get you to a hospital!" Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke run over to us, circling me and staring down at my wound.
"It'll be... too late.." Kakshi stares down at his bloody hand, and I can tell that he is blaming himself.
"Kak-sensei.. Don't blame yourself.", I smile slightly and I cough out blood. Tears run down everyone's faces, and I smile."Take them.. To the leaf village... protect them, for me." I reach out to Naruto and Sasuke, grabbing their hands and kissing them gently before sighing."Wait for me..."
-3rd POV-
Everyone stares down at the injured Zeus, tears silently running down his face before Naruto bursts out, "It was your fault! If it wasn't for you he never would've been like this!" He points to both Kakshi and Zabuza.
'I know... it's all my fault, just like Rin..' Kakashi stares down at his hand in shame.
"If it wasn't for your sensei's rashness then he wouldn't be in this state." Kakashi clenched his hand and glared up at the duo, "Then why were you with him? How was I to know you weren't going to injure him?"
"I thought the Copy cat Ninja would be a lot more rational, thinking before rushing into battle."
"Why. Were. You. With. Him?" Haku decided to speak up, trying to break the tension between Zabuza and Kakashi.
"I met with him when I was gathering medicinal herbs for Zabuza, he went with me to help heal him. We wanted to escort him back SAFELY." Haku slowly took off his mask and sadly looked down at Zeus, "We never wanted him injured."
'I lost my family... and now him.' Sasuke crouched near Zeus's head, his palm still tingling from where Zeus kissed his hand. Hate fills his being, and he looks up at Zabuza and Haku, blood red spilling into his irises and forming the Sharingan."The Sharingan!" Zabuza hissed and narrowed his eyes as Kakashi turned to Sasuke. Before he could open his mouth, a man walks over to Zeus and picks him up."Hey, who are you?! Put him down!" Naruto ranted angrily, as the man turned to him."Who am I? I am Shin, Prince Zeus' guard. Plus, he is not dead. Simply healing."
