Ratchet worked slowly to avoid adding damage. He was fixing Soldier's spark when coughing sounded. He stepped away and looked to see Soldier's optics open to show blurred silver into black. Soldier looked around and tried to step off. "Soldier, No." He catches Soldier as he fell of the berth. He lays him back against the berth and Soldier grabs Ratchet's wrist tightly. Ratchet could tell that it was out of fear.

Soldier relaxes and asks "What happend?" Ratchet explains "We recovered you from Darkmount's rubble. You took quite the damage. Luckily, a bit of energy remained in The Forge." Soldier sighs "Is that so?" "Indeed. Your buddy Wheeljack found you." "Oh is that who my father was talking about?" Soldier asks himself. Ratchet shrugs the question off and continues working. Soldier starts again "So, anything ne---" He grasps his neck and squeaks in pain. "Careful with your word limit. You took a structual pipe through through the back of your jaw and voicebox. Luckily, the voicebox wasn't as bad." Ratchet warns.

"SOLDIER!!!" The name rang through the base. Wheeljack lept off his feet and ran to his buddy's side. "Soldier, you're okay!!" The wrecker cried, holding Soldier's hand in his own. Soldier looked to the sound of the voice and once he processed it all together; What his father said, the voice, the events before, the name................ And the team, he scoffed and removed his servo from the wrecker's touch. He looked away, in the direction of Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen, but he didn't know better. He couldn't really see anything. Wheeljack was speechless but then remembered that it was his attitude.

His servo reached for Soldier's rotor blades. When his digit came into contact, the rotor spun quickly, wacking the wrecker's hand. Wheeljack yelped and took his servo away. "Soldier, come on!! It's just me!" He laughed. Soldier used his own sign language since he never cared to learn it and can't now since he's blind:

He points away

points to him self,

closes his fist,

flips his servo over the other

in attempt to say "Leave me alone."

"Why are you doing that with your hands?" Wheeljack asks. Ratchet groans "It's called sign language. Since he can't speak, he's decided to make movements that make up words. Yet he doesn't know sign language." Wheeljack was concerned "Wait, why can't he speak?" Ratchet sighs sadly "You remember taking him from the wreckage, don't you?" Wheeljack nods.

Ratchet continues "The structural pipe that Soldier took through him went through his voicebox and between his denta structures after splitting in 2 from the collapse. The voicebox's main circuitry was avoided leaving enough that he can still have a voice, but there is still damage to it which will have to heal overtime before I can get to work on it. And he's....." Ratchet sighed sadly. Wheeljack stepped back. Ratchet continued "And he's telling you to leave him alone."

Wheeljack didn't know how to feel.

He looked to Soldier who kept his gaze away. Soldier's foot tapping told Wheeljack that he was waiting for him to back away. Wheeljack sighs "I'll----------- I-I'll leave you alone." He walked away and sat back with his teammates. "What happened?" Smokescreen asks. Wheeljack vents "He wants to alone right now."

"Come on, that's unfair. Ratchet's with him." Smokescreen argues, pointing over to the 2 where Ratchet was welding one of Soldier's legs and then helping him off the berth, then walking to the other hangout area, where Optimus was reading. "Even our leader gets to be with him." Smokescreen and Wheeljack watch as Soldier sits next to Optimus and the Prime begins talking with him. "That's because Ratchet is a medic and Optimus is his father. I'm just his friend. There's a difference. A huge one." Wheeljack sneers at Smokescreen who didn't account for occupation. "Oh..... My bad."
