The next day, I woke up and called out to my dad, to my surprise, he didn't answer. "Dad!!" I called out again. Still nothing. I was about to yell out again before a familiar medic's voice answers "He's out on a mission." "And no one offered to tell me?" I growl. Ratchet responds "It was early and you went to bed late. We all figured---- I mean--- June thought it was best for you to sleep in. And she also said that due to your lack of coordination, you wouldn't be of much help and would only get in the way." A female voice argues "I did not say that!!" "Its what I heard." Ratchet replies. I could hear metal clangs as she stepped away, along with a door opening and closing.

"So when are they getting back?" I ask. Ratchet replies "Hopefully soon."

Tires screeching draw my attention. "Greetings, Arcee." Ratchet greets the femme. Arcee hums in response and sits at the other couch. Yes, I found out that there were 2. I laid back against the couch and waited. I soon felt a sudden tap on my shoulder "Who is it?" I ask. A sad voice responds "It's Wheeljack." I stand up and get out my blade "Why did you come and get me?" "I was wondering if you wanted to go on a mission?" He asks. I nod "Sure, i've been just sitting on my aft for the past few days."

Wheeljack takes me through a groundbridge, holding my arm tight. I brought my wings in and walked quietly, occasionaly hitting a few rocks with my blade. "You can lose the blade, I've got you." Wheeljack says. I sheeth my sword and hold his arm with my other servo.

Later on in the walk, Arcee spoke up "You're awfully quiet, Wheeljack." He responds "I've never been one for chitchat." the femme argues "Why do you pretend? If you really wanted to roll alone, you would have hit the open road today, but you didn't. You called for a bridge back to base." Wheeljack's grip on my arm started getting tighter and it hurt. "Hey, don't assume you know me." Wheeljack growls. He yanks me back and we stop walking. Arcee snaps "I'm not assuming. Now, care to chitchat about what happened out there?"

As Wheeljack explains, I got a sudden feeling, like someone was talking about Wheeljack. I ignored it for the time being and waited for Wheeljack to end his story. Parts of it made Wheeljack tighten and loosen his grip on me. I winced as it got tighter. A whine eventually left my voicebox and Arcee stops him "Wheeljack, you're hurting Soldier!" Wheeljack lets go and whimpers "Primus sake, bud are you alright?"

I try to hit him away, wherever he was. I eventually hit something. "The fuck did I hit?" I ask 'looking' at my servo. Wheeljack answers "You smacked my hand but i'm fine. And watch your language." I apologize and he places a soft grip on my arm, before we continue walking.

From what Arcee points out later, we had reached the location. I heard odd sounds which I assumed to be drills. The new blaring of machinery blocked out most conversation but i heard a lot of the things that were oddly related to Ultra Magnus who I've never personally seen. I could then hear them clearly "Just burns me up when a wrecker goes soft." Wheeljack grumbles. Arcee responds "Look, Wheeljack. You'll always have the wreckers as you knew them in here. Times change. Players come and go, and if you can't adapt, you'll rust, like the bones we're digging for. And besides, haven't you gone soft for Soldier?"

Wheeljack groans "That's different. I was upset that my buddy was almost dead. Trapped under a fortress, all because his father could give a scrap about him and left him to die." He raises his voice in anger "I couldn't even tell Magnus that he was there. Why!? Because he was more concerned about destroying Darkmount and not checking if there was anyone worth saving!!! One thing I can understand about that; Soldier doesn't have an incripted signal like us or cons!!! He's litteraly just a dot on a map!!! Like any other energon signature!!!!" His voice started breaking with emotion "If I wasn't so angered about seaspray or the relic or Bulkhead, He would have been an autobot way before he was even trapped at darkmount. It's my fault that he's blind and can't fully understand whats happening right now!! I know it, Ratchet knows it, Bulkhead knows it, even he knows it!!!"

I-I was speechless........

Why would he say that? It's not his fault that I was trapped there. My father would have just inflicted worse if it wasn't for him. I would be dead long before I ever went to darkmount. My father would have found me and killed me. It's his actions that kept me alive, not imprisoned me. Arcee tells him "Don't push the 2 away and don't be so hard on yourself. If something happened to them, you'd never forgive yourself. Trust me, I know...."
