A Broken Promise For A Fish [CronKri]

Whats the day?

I sighed as Cronus stood left to go get the nurse and because visiting hours were over.

" Wait! Cronus... " He turned to face me.

" Yeah Chief? " He dug through his pocket for the cigarette he always kept in his mouth. He never lit it because he thought it to be a waste.

" Uh.. What day is it? " He hummed for a sec before answering and smirking.

" I believe its Thursday, why? "

" Just curious.. " he nodded and turned back around on his heel. As he walked off i heard his shoes softly clip against the hospital room floor.

" Bye Kankri. Have the Hospital contact me if you need anything and there is no one to get ahold of. " I nodded and smiled a bit.

" Okay. Will do, bye Cronus. "

Soon after the room was empty of the violet blooded troll the air became stiff. I looked out the large window to the left of the room and grunted as i tried to sit up a bit.

" Kankri Vantas? " My eyes widen in realization. I knew that sweet motherly voice.. I looked over to see Porrim the emerald blooded troll who was almost like a sister or mother to me.

" P-Porrim? " She nodded and smiled before hugging me, being careful not to crush me though.

" Your lucky to not have any damage to your thinkpan. " i nodded.

" i am very thankful for it too, " i shifted as she let go of me,
" Maybe I'm just too lucky.. "

" Oh don't be silly Kankri. Everything happens for a reason you know. " i silently agreed.

" So, you're my nurse today?"

" Oh yea.. Sorry about that! " she chuckled and finally helped me sit up before taking our a few un needed IV's, then having me take off my shirt to see if i was breathing properly and 'heart' or whatever was beating in its natural pattern.

" It looks like everything is fine Kankri so we should be able to let you out in the morning. We will get ahold of Karkat or whoever you want to come pick you up. " She grinned and helped me shuffle back into my shirt.

" Sounds good. I don't know if Karkat has the time though.. "

" Of corse he does Kankri. You're brothers and I'm sure he'll be glad to hear your finally ok. " Oh yea. Right. Coma for two human years. Just great.

" Fine you can let him know I'm ok and contact him but i'd rather someone else come pick me up. "

" Who may that be Kankri? "

" Cronus.. "

" You sure about that? "

" Yes Porrim. He said he was willing to help. "

" Ok, if thats what you want i'll make that happen. But for now you will need your rest. " She scribbled a few things down on a clip board before turning around.

" Good Night Kankri. Ill see you in the morning. " i waved to her as she left and closed the thick wooden door behind her.

After she was gone i laid back down. Maybe this was a second chance for a better life. I don't know. But i'll figure something out in the morning.
