What Is Dead Will Never Die

Kings Landing

It felt as if everything were on fire. To be truthful, it was. The wall surrounding Kings Landing was caught ablaze by the Red Priestless of Asshai, keeping the dead out from breaking into the city. Everyone could just watch in awe as Wights were unable to advance forward and two dragons were simply hovering in the clearing storm. There were two of them; a blue dragon and a black one.

Jon stared up into the air and then to the Red Keep, where his brother was being heavily guarded. He knew that the Night King wanted his brother's life in order to pursue his goal of turning Westeros into a wasteland of a longer Long Night. But he would have to go through him first if he was still intent on doing so.

He stood on the main street with Jorah right behind him and Arton and Greyworm besides him. They stared up at the wall that was aflame, where archers and swordsmen atop were unharmed of the burning conflagration.

"Never seen witchcraft such as this." Arton murmured.

"Its a good thing she's on our side then." Jorah said.

Jon glared at Melisandre, unsure to be thankful or angry at her. He had banished her from Winterfell from burning a little girl, a girl that Ser Davoc was well acquainted with. And yet, she had come back to help them when she could have left them to perish. Though there would be another time to discuss more of the discussion.

Arya walked down the stairway and stood next to Jon, holding her dagger in her hand that was coated in giant's blood. They both shared the same look on their faces--they were nervous. There was fear looming over everyone like a haunting shadow, like how Drogon's silhouette flew over Kings Landing earlier. This shadow would take longer to ease.

"Where is he?" Jon asked, knowing that if Drogon and Rhaenella were free in the air, then it meant Viserion and the Night King weren't.

   "Haven't seem them." Arton reported.

"It's just the Night King. His dragon was cut down not too long ago." Arya informed.

Jon was surprised to hear that Viserion had been defeated, though it made sense. If Rhaenella and Drogon weren't engaging in combat, then it must mean that Viserion had been killed in the clash of the two dragons. With Viserion out of the way, Jon could mainly turn his attention to the Night King. He wanted to be the one to swing the sword.

"How long do you think we have?" Jorah asked.

"Not sure, depends on how long she can keep this up." Jon replied.

   "Must mean not for long."

"We can improve our defensive positions." Greyworm suggested.

The Unsullied leader had recently been through much and wanted to regret so many of it. He had joined in on his Queen's madness of Kings Landing and had killed the ones who surrendered to him and his men. He had killed men in armor out of rage for Missendei's death, a woman who wouldn't see him the same when she was alive. He would make it up to her by doing things the right way.

Then Jaime joined in with Brienne walking behind him. "You should send some men by the Mudgate, it's just below the Red Keep by the market place." He said.

   "Why there?" Asked Jorah.

"Its the weakest opening in the entire city. Its right in front of Blackwater, but by the time you send some forces there, I can guarantee you that the fire will be out by then."
