It is getting colder, Vaerya thought, looking out through the balcony in the room with the painted table, is what this man by the name Jon Snow correct of what he says?
Jon had left at least a few hours ago to search for a creature the Northerners called a Wight, a deity of ice that was the embodiment of being undead and controlled by what Jon called the Night King, one who had left The Lands of Always Winter with his entire army.
But she had no idea on what laid beyond The North, for she and her sisters were the last Targaryens to have left Westeros for Essos when The Mad King fell. Vaerya was skeptical on what the King of The North claimed of what he knew was true, and the majority of her mind refused to even more.
Though no word had been received since his departure, along with Jorah Mormont and a few other followers. It was just her and Daenerys alone in the area, sitting by the fire and only having the cracking wood as their ambience.
Vaerya had plenty of times to have peace and quiet with her only sister, they had most of their fond memories when they both ruled Mereen several months ago. Things changed over time, however. She couldn't help it, but part of Vaerya felt as if she and Daenerys were drifting apart more than they should.
In an effort to ease the silence and stillness in the air one decided to speak.
"For a man who comes looking for our help, he does have much of his pride to not ask for it of how others have before." Said Vaerya, taking a sip of her wine.
"Not sure it is the first time from a different person before," Daenerys replied, looking outside with her back leaning against one of the pillars, "but there is always a surprise in the minds of curious and devoted men."
"Agreed, this Jon Snow seems to surprise us from out of any of the men we've ran into; Drogo, Daario, Jorah, maybe even Hizdahr for all we know."
Daenerys gave her a weird expression. "Hizdahr was not in love with me, the only thing he loved was his city and the way of how he wanted to rule Mereen." She stated.
"True, but thats two things he was devoted to, even if he wasn't like the others in comparison." Vaerya reminded.
"Jon Snow..." Daenerys trailed off.
She could at least compliment on his devotion to The North and his brave reasons for not bending the knee to her. But she would not help him unless he had done so, for she was to be Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and the Seven Kingdoms would serve her.
If there were people like him standing in her way, that would lead to an open rebellion, and the rebellion against their father would start all over again based on who would be better to sit on the Iron Throne.
"His devotion towards The North is admirable, I will give him that. Not to mention on how much he could be this wolf of the 'pack' despite him being a bastard." Vaerya explained.
"The Lords of House Stark have always kept their word before in the past, Jon Snow will keep his word on being ignorant on acknowledging me as the Queen."
"Perhaps, but only if his mind is set on that opinion of his."
Daenerys turned to her right, wine glass in hand. "What are you trying to say?" She asked.
Slightly sighing, the glass in Vaerya's hand was placed on the table besides her. "Those ordered to bend the knee will never bend the knee. I am not saying what you are thinking is wrong, but I want you to acknowledge the fact that not every King, Queen, or kingdom will bow to you just on the fact that you have a birth right to it."
