Letty and I decide to try and keep our relationship to ourselves for a while, but it's hard to keep it from the rest of the team. We get enough alone time during the day, considering that us hanging out together isn't really weird, but Mia starts getting suspicious when she notices how often Letty comes downstairs to spend the night with me, so I make her go back to sleeping in her own room.

I walk into my room to find Letty lying on the bed, sleeping peacefully. I smile, and lean on the doorframe. She must have come down after I left to drop off Mia and Jessie at school.

"You gonna keep watching me like a creep or are you gonna come join me?" I hear her say.

"I got my dirty work clothes on though," I giggle.

She lifts an arm up and reaches out to me. "Don't care. Come here."

I chuckle and go over to her, sitting on the edge of the bed next to her and shriek when she pulls me all the way down. I kick my shoes off and lean against the wall as she wraps her arms around my waist and makes herself comfy using my lap as a pillow.

"Ma is taking Mia to her friend's house for a sleepover so you can stay here tonight," I mutter while I play with her hair.

"Finally," she smiles. "I miss sleeping with you."

"Uh huh, you mean actually sleeping with me or having sex?" I grin.

"Both," she giggles.

"You gotta get up baby," I chuckle. "We have to be at the garage later."

"Yeah, in a couple hours. We got time," she says, looking up at me with mischief in her eyes. She straightens herself up and throws her leg over mine, sitting on my lap. I lean forward and give her a quick kiss, but feel butterflies erupt in my stomach when she deepens it, snaking her hands up into my hair.

"Letty," I try to say. But she's distracting me, and she knows it.

She pushes the hair out of my face. "Come on Gabi," she pouts. "We haven't been alone down here for weeks."

I giggle. "Stop being so horny. You seemed to get on fine before we got together."

"Yeah but now I got a sexy girlfriend and I want her," she grins. I smile and try to respond but I have to bite back a moan when she places a kiss right under my jaw. I huff, finally conceding.

"You're gonna be the death of me," I say, smiling when she giggles in triumph and we fall back into the sheets.

I walk across the garage at the sound of my name. Vince tosses a wrench at me and I catch it, sitting on the creeper when he indicates he needs me to go under the car.

He leans over right as I slide under the car and says quietly, "So how long have you and Letty been a thing?"

Clang!

"Ow! ¡Hijo de la gran puta ese pinche-!" I let out a stream of cussing when I jerk up at Vince's question, forgetting that I'm under a car and hitting my head hard. I wheel myself back out at the sound of him bursting out into laughter.

"Man I was still half guessing but your reaction gave me all the answer I needed," he laughs.

"Oh fuck you V," I mutter, rubbing my forehead.

"You know I might've said yes, but you're gay and taken apparently," he smirks. I roll my eyes and stand, pushing him towards the car.

"You can get your ass under there yourself then."

"Aw come on Gabi, don't be like that," Vince grabs my arm and turns me around. "Hey, I'm happy for you, man. For real. Are you guys actually together?"

I roll my eyes and sigh. "Yeah. Officially? Pretty sure it's been like two months. But, ah..." I turn to make sure Letty's far away and focused on what she's working on before turning back to Vince and continuing in a lower voice. "We made out at the New Year party at Hector's and may or may not have hooked up a couple weeks later when we hosted at our place."

Vince's jaw drops. "Are you for real?" I throw my hands up in surrender.

"Hey, I'd pretty much accepted that I'd be single forever but she came onto me man. I was as shocked as you are."

Vince pauses. "Does Dom know?"

I shake my head. "He knows that we kissed on New Years but I haven't told him anything else. Speaking of which, could you please keep it on the low for now? We haven't really told anybody."

Vince ruffles my hair and I wince when he pats the spot I hit my head on. "I got you sister. Don't worry I won't tell nobody."

"Better not," I grumble. "Just for that though you're picking up Mia and Jess today. I don't care that you went yesterday."

Vince groans, looking at the clock and noticing there's only about 10 minutes until he'd have to leave. I chuckle and walk over to the office to do some paperwork, letting my hand trail over Letty's waist when I pass by her. She gives me an irritated look and I wink, smirking. The time passes quickly once I get started, though, and soon enough I'm brought out of focus by the feeling of someone putting their hands on my shoulders and kissing the top of my head from behind.

"Hey baby," Letty says. "We should get going."

I look at the clock and quickly realize it's getting close to 5.

"Shit man, I hadn't even realized the time," I say, reaching up and letting our fingers entwine on my shoulder. I type a couple last things into the computer before turning it off. When I stand, though, I pull her close and kiss her gently, smiling in triumph when she deepens it. I love the feeling of her hands sliding up my chest and locking around my neck.

"Letty," I manage to get out. "Home."

We get into our cars, grinning, and I just know she wants to race me home. And as soon as we pull out of the driveway, it's on. We pass each other back and forth, piss off a lot of drivers, and damn near get caught by the cops.

But as we near our neighborhood an accident on one of the larger streets catches my eye. Letty notices my slowing and I gesture for her to follow me. We head over to the wreck, where two cars lie crumpled on the road. The first one is crushed up in the front, but it must have hit the other car, because the second one is completely jacked up and bent on the drivers side. I frown. The second car looks familiar. Letty and I park and walk as close as we can and when I go around the back I can see the paramedics pulling a woman out of the driver's seat. Glancing around the back of the car, I check the license plate and my heart stops.

"Letty that's my ma."

I see the exact moment the realization hits her. "Holy shit."

I clap a hand over my mouth. "That's my ma," I say again, finally processing the information. "Officers! That's my ma! Wait!"

"Gabi-!" Letty stops me from running over. I struggle to free myself.

"No I need to go with her! Mami!"

"Come on baby, let's meet them at the hospital, please," Letty begs.

I concede, and as we climb into Letty's car I watch as they carry my ma into the back of the ambulance, the flashing lights and blaring siren fading down the street.
