@Charles_gillespie started following you!
My eyes went wide as the notification popped up onto my phone. Did he really just do that? He really just followed me.
"Laney, he just followed me back," I say in shock.
"Bro, he's so in love with you," She snickered.
"L, he barely knows me,"
"That doesn't mean he can't be in love with you. I mean look at you," She said pointing at me. "You're in love with him and you barely know him,"
"I know some about him," I say as she laughs at me.
"You know the things everyone knows. But, you don't really know him," She said as we walked through the mall.
"I don't understand what you're trying to say," I said as we stopped at a table to sit.
"All I'm saying is, he probably has a crush on you. If I were you, I would definitely go for it," She said.
"Not that he's even interested," I say rolling my eyes.
"You never know. You both are in Los Angeles, so," She said eyeing me.
"How do you know he's here?" I ask.
"I mean the man posts about it every second. He's here for something called Julie and the Phantoms,"
"Julie and the Phantoms? What is that?"
"Honestly, couldn't tell ya. But he's here, so go for it," She said.
"Maybe," I said before pulling out my phone.
I tap the Instagram icon and quickly go to his page. He was in LA. Maybe something was meant to happen between us. I don't know. Beckett, you sound fucking crazy. There's no way in hell a celebrity could like you. I mean, look at you.
"Stop thinking so much, Beck. Time will tell," Laney said as we got up to continue or shopping. "Who knows we might even see him here one day,"
"Don't even joke like that, I would pass out," I said chuckling.
"And then I'd have to do all the talking for you," She said as I shoved her arm.
"You would not. I know how to talk to boys," I said rolling my eyes at her.
"Sure, but this boy is Charlie Gillespie. Not these random guys around campus,"
"I guess you're right. But, I would probably fall out," I said.
Just the thought of ever seeing Charlie in person freaked me out. Whenever you're so obsessed with someone, it's freaky ever thinking you meet them in real life.
We walked around the mall for what seemed like hours, finding the perfect outfit for the party this weekend. Though we didn't party a lot, when we did it was always the bigger parties. It was the first party of senior year and there was no way we weren't going. I had all semester to study.
"What do you think of this one?" Laney asked as she held up a blue crop top.
"Too basic," I said laughing at her.
"What about this one?" She asked holding up yet another crop top.
"Don't go with a crop top," I say handing her a cute t-shirt.
"This? For a party?" She asked once she grabbed it.
"It's not like it's a fancy party," I said chuckling at her. "It's literally at a frat house,"
"Okay? Maybe I'll meet my future husband there,"
"At a frat house? If you ever marry a frat boy I will literally stop being your friend," I said as she laughed.
"If you did, you wouldn't have any friends so," She said.
"Fuck, you're right. But, I wouldn't like him,"
We laughed as we continued to search for clothes. Laney always tried her hardest to look pretty, in hopes of getting male attention. Though she's so beautiful already, she always wants to try her hardest. As we continued to shop throughout the store, a guy in a baseball cap walked in looking rather suspicious.
"Do you see that guy?" I whisper to her.
"Yeah, he looks kinda sketch, " She said as we continued to eye him.
"You know it's not polite to stare, Beckett, " He said as my eyes went wide.
"What?" Laney asked obviously confused.
"How do you know my name?" I ask.
He then proceeds to take off his hat and sunglasses, revealing none other Charlie Gillespie. My jaw dropped to the floor as I continued to stare.
"Beckett, you're doing it again, " He said putting a hand on my shoulder.
I was speechless. I had to words for what was happening. Of all the places he would be here. My mind was blank and I couldn't think of anything to say.
"I'm Laney, " She said reaching her hand out for him to shake.
"Charlie,"
"Oh I know who you are, Mr. Gillespie, " She said as my eyes got wider.
"So what are we shopping for today ladies?" He asked so casually. Like he had known us for years.
Still, nothing would come out. I tried to speak and still nothing but a squeak.
"Sorry, she's not normally like this. We're shopping for a party, you should stop by, " She said smiling at me.
What the fuck.
"Yeah, I'll be there. Beckett just send me the address, " he said before winking at me, making my knees go weak.
Charlie Gillespie was actually in front of me. The real Charlie Gillespie. The boy I've been obsessing over for months was actually in front of me.
"We're shopping for a party, " I say as Laney laughs.
"So I've been told, " He said smiling at me.
God, that smile.
"I'll see you at the party, yeah?" He asks as I slowly nod my head. "Well, I will see you, ladies, later,"
He slowly put his hat and sunglasses on before walking out of the store. I stood there in shock, still unable to process what just happened.
"What the fuck just happened?" I asked snapping back into reality.
"You just embarrassed yourself in front of Charlie Gillespie himself, " Laney said as she couldn't contain her laughter.
"You could've hit me or something. Brought me back to reality, " I say face-palming.
"Hey, he's coming to the party. You'll have another chance then, "
"Wait, he's coming to the party? How much did I miss? I swear I blacked out for a minute, " I said as she chuckled at me.
"Yep, he told you to and him the address and he'd be there, " she said snickering. "Now we have to find you a hot outfit!"
What did I just get myself into?
