"Why are you walking so slow? We're gonna be late for class?" Laney said as we practically sprint to class.
"I am only 4'11, I have very short legs. I am trying my hardest," I said continuing to sprint.
"We have 5 minutes to get there and it's on the other side of campus, Beckett," She said as I rolled my eyes.
"I heard you the first time, Laney," I huff. "I'm going,"
"Why did we park on the other side of campus anyway?" I ask.
"That was the only place that had parking,"
I definitely don't run, so my lungs felt like they were on fire. I probably should start working out, this isn't fun. My backpack was weighing me down but there wasn't anything I could do about it at this point.
"We made it," I said huffing. "With a minute to spare,"
"We have nothing to spare, get your ass inside," Laney said as she opened the door.
We walk towards our class as fast as we could so we wouldn't get marked absent. I swear this is the reason I don't run or work out for that matter. I felt like I was dying. Who even likes running?
We finally enter the class and sit in our seats just as the teacher was taking attendance. I sighed in relief that we weren't late. My teachers like to do this thing that if youre late, they'll count you as absent. Even if it is just a second late.
"Why did we do an 8 am class?" I whisper to Laney.
"I honestly wish I knew," She chuckled next to me.
"Beckett Campbell," The teacher called out.
"Here,"
"Laney Fallon,"
"Here,"
Once attendance was done, the teacher went on through the PowerPoint. I honestly couldn't even focus. All I could think about was Charlie. Ever since the party, I couldn't stop thinking about him. It was still so surreal to me that I had actually met and kissed my celebrity crush.
"Ms. Campbell, what is so important that you cannot pay attention," The teacher called out, snapping me out of my daydream.
"Sorry, miss," I say going back to focusing on her.
"Stop thinking about Charlie's lips," Laney whispered.
"I am not," I whispered back knowing damn well that was a lie.

I spent the rest of my day in my room, figuring out what I needed to write for the next chapter. I knew exactly what it was like to kiss Charlie so I could incorporate into that. How it made me feel.
When I kissed Charlie, all I felt was sparks. I felt as if I was on top of the world like nothing could hurt me. I was safe. I had never had anyone make me feel like that before. It was honestly nice.
My thoughts were interrupted when my phone dinged. It was a message from Charlie. I smiled to myself as I opened it.
'Hey there, babydoll'
I smiled at the message and sent a simple hey back.
"Laney!" I yelled out to her.
"What's up?" She asked once she appeared in my room.
"What should my next chapter be about? I'm stumped," I said as she sat on my bed.
"Where are you right now in the story?"
"Basically, Charlie just hit her with a door and is begging her not to tell anyone he's there," I say.
"How does the main character feel in that moment?" She asked.
"Honestly? She thinks Charlie is a little arrogant, thinking she knows who he is. When she really doesn't," I say.
"Do exactly that then," She said grabbing my computer and typing a few things.
Hannah stood there, baffled at how arrogant the boy was. She stated at him for what seemed like an eternity.
'Why are you staring?' He asked.
'What makes you think I know you?' She scoffed.
'So you're saying you have no idea who I am?' He asked clearly shocked.
'Not a clue,' She said looking at him.
'Hm, weird,'
'Why is that weird? Am I supposed to know who you are?' Hannah asked.
'I mean, I am famous,'
"That was pretty good," I say looking at her.
"What can I say?" She smirked.
"Remind me to never say that again, your head got too big," I giggle.
"You know I'm great so don't even," She said throwing a pillow at me.
"Hey!" I say laughing.
I sat there and looked at my computer, thinking of what else I could add to the chapter. I've always loved writing, English being my favorite subject. I felt as if I was stuck or in a rut. I couldn't think of anything else to put into it so I closed my laptop and went towards my bed.
"Are you done with it already?" Laney asked as I got into bed.
"No, I just can't think of anything else to write," I say sighing. "I have writer's block or something,"
"Maybe you should hang out with Charlie again, get the juices flowing," She said winking at me.
"Laney, I'm not going to use Charlie for book ideas. You know I'm actually in love with him," I say shoving her shoulder.
"I know, I know. But what if hanging out with Charlie helps your book. It really wouldn't be using him for it but helping the ideas flow," She said.
"Laney, no,"
"Okay, don't say I didn't try to help you," She said laughing.
I laugh at her and continue scrolling through my Instagram. I couldn't help but think about what she had said. Sure, I didn't want to use Charlie for my book, but what if it did help. Just hanging out with him and getting ideas on how it feels to be with him again. I quickly shut the app before going to my messages and sending him a text.
'Wanna finish where we left off last night, loverboy?'
