They arrive at the station as Deaton finishes stitching Cal's side. Cal jumps out and stumbles slightly making Ethan grab him "I'm alright." he promises him. Ethan and Jackson both give him a look making Cal roll his eyes slightly "Seriously Eth, Jacks, I'm all good." he smiles before following after Scott, Stiles, Cora, Theo and Deaton. As they walk-in they are hit with the smell of blood, Lydia's blood. Cal runs over when he sees her on the floor with Theo trying to help Kira with the bleeding. "Theo, your belt, we can make a tourniquet." Cal tells him. Nodding Theo takes his belt off and helps Cal make a tourniquet. "Stiles, I'm fine. Help Tracy. Find Tracy. Go." Lydia tells Stiles as they hear an ambulance getting closer. "It's okay. She's all right." Theo assures Stiles. "Come on, Stiles." Scott tells his best friend. Stiles looks at Cal who nods at his brother in assurance making Stiles follow Scott. "You better tell Aiden to meet us at the hospital." Cal tells Ethan who nods in response and pulls out his phone to call his twin. The paramedics soon rush in and take over giving Cal, Theo and Kira a nod. Cal leans against the wall holding his side, a bit in pain as the others walk out the basement. "Where's Tracy?" Jackson asks realising that the girl isn't with them. "She's dead." Cora responds going over to Cal. "You good?" she asks looking at her best friend. "Yeah, just healing slow for some reason. Probably tired." Cal smiles standing properly.
The group of teens meet Aiden at the hospital where Melissa walks over to them. "How bad is it?" Aiden asks. "Could have been worse. Cal, Theo, nice going on that tourniquet. You two probably saved her life. All right. She's about to go into surgery. So it's going to be a while. Any other supernatural details that I need to know about or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" Melissa asks giving the two boys a soft smile. "It was the tail." Kira tells her. "Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail, if that makes a difference." Scott nods. "Okay." Melissa nods. "But it wasn't just Tracy. There were the others. The guys in the masks." Malia pipes up making Cal look at her. He grabs her hand and pulls her to the side "What guys in masks?" he asks confused. "There were these three guys in masks. They came out of nowhere and killed her. They were really strong, stronger than me." Malia explains in slight panic. "It's okay Mal, I believe you. With all the crazy stuff we've seen I'll believe just about anything. Besides you wouldn't kill her, you've been doing really well with your control." Cal smiles. Malia nods gratefully "Thanks the others gave me a look like they didn't fully believe me." she tells him. "Well if they don't that's on them not you." Cal tells her making her nod as Ethan and Jackson walk over. "We're heading home, we won't be able to see Lydia to at least tomorrow possibly the day after." Jackson explains. Cal nods at his mate "See you tomorrow Mal." he smiles. "Bye." Malia responds with a small smile.

The next morning Cal walks into school with Ethan, Jackson, Louise, Isaac and Aiden "I'm going to see if I can get in to see Lydia during my free period." Aiden tells the group. "If you do, tell her I say hi." Cal smiles making Aiden nod in response. Louise links arms with Cal "Come on we got to get to AP Bio." she tells him after kissing Isaac. Cal nods and kisses Ethan and Jackson before heading off. Louise and Cal spot Theo by his locker and head over "Hey Theo, ready for AP Bio?" Louise asks. "Yeah, how's Lydia?" Theo asks. "We aren't sure, last we heard she got out of theatre alright." Cal responds. Theo nods as they head into the classroom. The boys split from Louise and head to their table sitting down and getting their stuff out their bags. "I already want this day to be over, I need sleep." Cal groans putting his head in his hands. Theo chuckles "I understand that feeling." he agrees making Cal chuckle aswell.
"If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is the same as other humans, what could account for the missing 0.1% difference? Theo?" Ms Finch asks. "Um, nucleotides." Theo answers looking up. "That's right. Yes, Kira?" Ms Finch asks as Kira raises her hand up. "Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?" Kira asks. "No, but there can be multiple sets of DNA in the same individual. We call that a chimera. Anyone know where that term comes from?" Ms Finch responds. Cal raises his hand the same time as Sydney. Ms Finch looks at her "Sydney?" she asks making Cal lowers his hand. "Greek mythology. It's a lion with a goat coming out of its back and a tail that ends in the head of a snake." Sydney says trying to subtlety read it off her phone but failing. "That's right, Sydney. Do you want to read us the full Wikipedia entry off your phone?" Ms Finch asks. Cal raises his hand "Yes Cal?" Ms Finch asks. "If a chimera did exist could it be seen as a form of mutation?" Cal asks. "Yes it could, mutation is the next topic that we will cover in class. As you know from the reading, DNA is a fragile molecule. Isn't it, Scott? Or did you miss last night's assigned reading?" Ms Finch asks. "Kind of." Scott responds. "Kind of or yes?" Ms Finch questions. "Mostly yes." Scott tells her. "Well, then thank you for another helpful transition in topic. Drop forms. All those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class, you should fill one out. The rest will be on my desk." Ms Finch tells the class handing a couple out to people.
At lunch the pack meets up in the library "Did you get in to see Lydia?" Cal asks Aiden. "No. I tried using my free period but she's still in the ICU and no one outside family is allowed in." Aiden responds. "We got one thing." Jackson says holding up the Bestiary. "Anything in here about half-werewolves, half-Kanimas?" Stiles asks. "The Chimera." Scott pipes up. "Um, what?" Isaac asks confused. "Chimera. It's a creature made of incongruous parts. And if Liam said he found two burial sites, it means Tracy's not the only one." Cal explains. "Who's the second Chimera? And why would they bury them?" Ethan asks. "Deaton thinks it's part of their process." Scott responds. "The people in masks." Malia says.
That evening Cal sits in the school library opposite a sleeping Stiles and next to a tired Cora "Stiles, wake up and go home. I'll meet you there in a bit. Cal, I'll see you tomorrow." she tells the brothers. "Bye Cora." Cal smiles before standing up and putting his books away. "Stiles, come on. Time to get home." he tells his brother hitting Stiles' arm. Stiles wakes up and stands, putting the Bestiary in his bag. They walk out to the jeep and climb in. The suddenly starts spluttering smoke as Stiles tries to start the engine. "Oh god." Cal groans jumping out the jeep with his brother. Stiles lifts the hood and they start looking at the engine, as they do some one grabs Cal's forearm and Stiles shoulder akin for them cry out in pain.
