Ch.32 Facing the Demons Pt.3

A/N: To help differentiate between who is talking, I will have Judge Tee Pravat, Mr. Fai a.k.a. The Prosecutor, and Mr. Kan a.k.a the Defense in names' will be in Bold.

Witnesses excluding Kongpob, his father, and other main characters will be italicized.

The main characters will be in the regular style. If this confuses you in any way, please let me know and I will change it.

P.S. This chapter may be boring as fuck and I apologize but I am currently grieving the loss of my grandpa from COVID-19. I knew it had been a while since I last update so I quickly wrote this chapter. I am sorry if it sucks and is boring as fuck but right now, this is all I can do.

Kong's P.O.V.

Mr.Fai: My next witness is Mr.Sun. He is the head butler who left to work for the boys when they left their Father's house.

Mr.Sun can you tell me the treatment Mr. Kong received from his father.

Mr.Sun: Yes. It all started when Young Master Kong turned three-years-old. His father would verbally abuse him.

Mr.Fai: Could you give us an example?

Mr.Sun: Yes. There was one time where I was coming into the house from the garden and I heard Mr.Suthulick screaming at Young Master Kong.

His exact words were: Why did this abomination have to be born? I wish it was your mother who had lived not some freak and disgusting thing like you.

Hearing that broke my heart because Young Master Kong is the sweetest person I've meet and he has never harmed anyone or said anything bad about others.

Mr.Fai: Thank you, Mr. Sun. No further questions your honor.

Judge Pravat: Mr.Kan your turn.

Mr.Kan: Thank you, your honor. Mr. Sun isn't it true that you have a criminal record?

Mr.Sun: When I was 17, I was arrested for theft. I was young and stupid at the time but I served my time.

Mr.Kan: So you expect the jury to believe the words of a criminal? How do we know that you aren't up here saying awful things about your ex-employer because you have a grudge against him?

Mr.Fai: Objection your honor. Speculation.

Judge Pravat: Sustained. Mr.Kan keep to the facts and not put words in the witnesses' mouth.

Mr.Kan: Yes, your honor. Mr.Sun do you have any ill thoughts towards your ex-employer?

Mr.Sun: Yes. I despise the man for treating Young Master Kong like he is an abomination. He is a handsome man who has grown up with harsh treatments that no one should ever deal with.

Mr.Kan: So then it's true that you are only up here as a witness in order to defame your ex-employer correct?

Mr.Sun: No that's not true, I'm here to tell you about Young Master Kong's treatment. Mr.Suthulick is-

Mr.Kan: So you are using that knowledge if it is true to slander my client? Have you no shame?

Mr.Fai: Your honor! Speculations again. He has no concrete evidence.

Judge Pravat: I agree. Mrs.Chen (stenographer a.k.a. The person who types all court sessions.), please scratch the Defense's last set of remarks. The jury I want you to disregard what the Defense just said. Any further questions Mr.Kan?

Mr.Kan: No your honor.

Jude Pravat: Very well. Mr.Sun, you may step down and return to your seat. Prosecution please call forward your next witness.

Mr.Fai: Thank you, your honor. My next witness is Mr.Suthulick.

'Murmurs could be heard throughout the courtroom as my father stood up from his seat and walked calmly over to the witness stand before sitting down. When he was comfy in his chair, he looked over at me and gave me a chill tingling smile, which I could tell was full of hate.'

Mr.Fai: Mr.Suthulick, how would you describe yourself as a father?

Mr.Suthulick: I would describe myself as a firm yet a fair father.

Mr.Fai: Now, would you say that you treat all of your children fairly?

Mr.Suthulick: Yes, after all, I only have two children.

Mr.Fai: I find that statement inaccurate. According to these medical files, exhibit A, you had three sons. Is that not correct?

Mr.Suthulick: I have two sons and an unfortunate accident. You see, my wife only wanted two children like myself and when we found out she was pregnant with a third, we agreed that we put them up for adoption.

Mr.Fai: Once again Mr.Suthulick I find that statement to be false. I have here, exhibit B your late wife's diary. I was given permission from her children to use this as evidence in this trial.

'I looked over at my father and saw hatred burning in his eyes at the sight of mom's diary. I could feel his hatred flowing towards me and it was suffocating. I tried to keep calm but I felt myself start to shut down. Luckily it stopped the moment Arthit put his hand on my shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze. I briefly turned around and gave him a silent thanks before turning back around.'

Mr.Fai: I shall now read an excerpt from the diary.

"Today my husband and I were given the best news ever. We are blessed to have a third son. My husband was overjoyed to know this. We are so happy to have another son. My husband and I never cared what gender our children will be. They are born as they are."

Now Mr.Suthutlick this passage that your late wife wrote contradicts what you just told the court. So were you happy to know that you were blessed with a third child or not?

Mr.Suthulick: I was at that moment happy but it was later on that we realized that having a third child would be too much.

Mr.Fai: Really? Then I will once again read another passage from the diary.

"Today I am seven months pregnant and I am so happy. My husband took our two sons to the baby store to pick out clothes and other necessities that we will need for our third child. I couldn't help but smile as I saw my husband smile at the thought of having a third son in our family."

So once again I have evidence here that contradicts what you have told the court. What do you have to say to this?

*Silence*

Mr.Fai: So, Mr.Suthulick why don't you tell the court the real reason why you hate your youngest son Kongpob.

Mr.Suthulick: I-

And cliffhanger. Sorry if this chapter sucks or is boring as hell. Some of you may know that right now I am grieving for the loss of my grandpa from COVID-19. He passed away yesterday morning and I'm also scared because my grandma has COVID-19 as well. It may be a long time before I update again. Please be patient and wait.
