The Cross Reality: How To Train Your Dragon

Today we were working with the Nadder, it was one of the ones I rescued months ago, and it made me uneasy as I made my way through the maze. Keeping out of site of Gobber, I ran right into the hip of the dragon and it squawked as it looked at me, her eyes narrowed before she recognized me and stopped shock clear in her eyes and she began to nuzzle me. "No... You can't be seen nuzzling me" I ushered her away and ran around a corner to 'hide' she let out a squawk and jumped up top until I heard a thunk and the Nadder spun on Hiccup who was questioning Gobber about the Nightfury in the Book of Dragons I sighed as I was shoved by one of the twins into the line of sight of the now angry Nadder. I let out a yelp as it blew a stream of fire at me and I dodged before I heard their chuckles and I let out a gentle breath to not beat the ever living crap out of them. 

This whole exercise came down like boulders on snow covered ocean, the walls were collapsing and the Nadder was getting joy out of chasing Astrid, Hiccup and taking out Snoutlout. She avoided me all together which in every way shape or form surprised me to no extent.

I watched as Astrid tried to get her axe out of Hiccups shield and ended up hitting the Nadder in the nose and I flinched. "Before you both get someone killed figure out which side you're on!" Astrid said getting mad at Hiccup and I, I rolled my eyes "you I am sure already know which side I am on" I said sharply looking at Hiccup sadly and Astrid rolled her eyes slightly. 

I followed Hiccup as he took fish and a shield and we made our way back to the ravine, as we got there I whistled loudly, hearing a roar in response I felt the air crackle and the Skrill landed in front of me. I smiled rubbing her nose happily as she purred at my affection, "I want you to meet someone" I said warmly and she cooed at me in confusion. "Just wait" I said smiling "how do you like the name Stormdancer?" I asked looking at her and she perked up slightly and I smiled.

I watched with Stormdancer as Hiccup dropped the knife, holding the fish to his chest, I held a bit of affection for the boy working with the offspring of lightning and death itself. I smiled as the Nightfury flopped when Hiccup threw his knife into the water, it crawled forward like a wild cat and opened its 'toothless' maw to take the fish and Hiccup hesitated "I coulda sworn you had..." The retractable teeth flew out and snatched the fish out of Hiccups hands and I laughed as Hiccup yelped and Stormdancer let out a low amused rumble "teeth..." Hiccup finished. The Nightfury looked up at me as it approached Hiccup slowly and brought half of the fish back up onto Hiccup's lap. I looked at Stormdancer "don't ever do that to me" I said and she nudged me amused, I watched the two interact as The Nightfury glided away to the other side of the ravine and breathed a 'fire bed' into the ground. I jumped down with Stormdancer beside me and I sat down to meditate to keep myself from hurting Astrid, I watched as Hiccup bonded with the Nightfury for a little bit. 

A short while later and about 2-3 hours of me meditating, I opened my eyes to see Stormdancer sleeping beside me and the Nightfury was hanging  from a branch. My eyes moved to Hiccup who was drawing and I made eye contact with the Nightfury who then looked at Hiccup, I watched it get down and walk to Hiccup's side. As it sat it sat on it's haunches and watched Hiccup draw. As if to say watch this, the dragon got up and grabbed a tree branch to mimic what Hiccup was doing and started drawing lines all over the dirt and ended up hitting Hiccup in the head with the branches. I laughed slightly as I watched the interaction, Hiccup stood and as he stepped back he stepped on a line which made The Nightfury growl slightly, Hiccup tested it and nodded in understanding as he kept stepping over the lines to not 'wreck' the 'drawing' Hiccup was no standing in front of the dragon. The Nightfury purred, and as Hiccup went to go touch the dragon's snout he growled and Hiccup retracted his hand. Hiccup put his head to the side and closed his eyes, pressing his hand forward The Nightfury went to do it looked at me for encouragement and I nodded he pressed his big scaled head to Hiccup's hand and Hiccup looked at him shocked eye brows up. The dragon pulled back before snorting and taking off.

I sat with Hiccup looking at him while he stared at the floor, "it twisted it clean off" he was telling the story where the Boneknapper took his hand and leg. I tapped my foot in thought as I leaned back eating my cooked fish. Fishlegs said something about killing a dragon from the inside, while Snoutlout said something along the lines of "I am so angry right now... I will avenge your beautiful hand and your beautiful foot, I will chop off the legs of every dragon I fight, with my face" He said before looking at me and winking I gagged on the fish I was eating and paid attention to Gobber as did Hiccup when he said this "Nah huh its the wings and tails you want, a dragon can't fly without it's wings or tail, and a downed dragon is a dead dragon" I watched as Hiccup left without a word and Gobber stood. "I'm going to bed, you should be too, tomorrow we get to the bigger ones until we reach the Monstrous Nightmare. Tuffnut went on about how he was going to have the honors and his 'birthmark' and Astrid noticed Hiccup leave, she looked down the stairs as he did and I looked back into the fire. I stood and followed Hiccup to where he was off to.
