After having absolutely no luck finding anything that even remotely hinted at a single soul having recently been inside of the abandoned building, the two heroes hurried to pack up and headed off towards Kaida's apartment.Bakugou had been the one to drive as he would never let anyone chauffeur him around if given the option, and he gripped the steering wheel, his skin tightly stretching over his knuckles, as they raced through the artificially lit streets. He wasn't necessarily speeding but the way he quickly weaved through other cars and didn't quite slow down enough around turns on the road made Todoroki mildly nervous, yet the fact that they were getting to their destination quicker fueled the dual-haired male's own anger toward the irresponsible happenings at Kaida's apartment that they were on their way to interrupt.
Todoroki was beyond irritated at the lack of self-control that his friends and coworker, no, technically employee—though they didn't often use that verbiage to attempt to create an equal setting—were exhibiting currently, acting as if two of them weren't there for the sole purpose of protecting Kaida, as they all instead chose to dull their senses and make themselves utterly useless if an attack were to be attempted. He internally questioned if they were really so oblivious to how easily this could become a repeat of the first assault when previously they were all a little too intoxicated to handle the situation enough to actually detain the criminal. He thought that they'd knew better, obviously having been proven wrong, so maybe he didn't know much but what he did know for sure was that Mina had better be happy that she wasn't actually on the clock, otherwise there would be hell for her to pay at work. He began wondering if she would be nervous of that exact possibility once they showed up and worried that she would attempt to convince everyone to refuse to let them up.
"What if they won't buzz us in?" Todoroki wondered aloud with his elbow propped up against the door handle and he had his chin resting between his thumb and forefinger as the hint of a glare painted his features while he watched the scenery passing by through the car window.
"Doesn't matter, I'll just get the code from Mina," Bakugou growled as he took another turn a little too sharply.
Todoroki adjusted himself to remain upright through the hard turn, "I hope she cooperates and gives it to you," he grunted. "I didn't know she had it," he added curtly as the car raced forward again.
Bakugou briefly glanced at the two-toned hero out of the corner of his eye and scoffed to himself, not bothering to add anything in response to Todoroki's remark. With that small glimpse, the ash-blonde could tell that his coworker wasn't the least bit happy—Todoroki's stature was rigid and his face looked irritated or worried, Bakugou couldn't tell which, by the way his brow was furrowed, and the two-toned hero's knee was bouncing rhythmically though there was no music playing at the moment.
"What if Mina's suspicious as to why you want the code and doesn't give it to you?" Todoroki questioned again.
"She won't be, Jesus! I'll lie or something for why I need it," the ash-blonde returned and rolled his eyes, as he began formulating a plan of what to say.
Though Bakugou was angry as well, which wasn't unlike him, he knew he didn't really have any room to judge when it came to the girls drinking and partying instead of being on proper guard duty, as the blonde had just spent the previous night's shift sleeping on Kaida's couch himself, and he had mixed feelings about calling Mina out when she could so easily throw his own situation back at him. Still, fury raced through his veins faster than his car sped through the busy city blocks—he was pissed that Kaida wasn't even trying to be safe; he was pissed that most likely none of them had the wherewithal to stay sober, maybe Ururaka, though probably unlikely with Mina there; and he was still cherry-on-top pissed that the earphone bitch was wearing his hoodie. He thought that if he was going to be seeing anyone in it—it should have been the black-haired, pouty-lipped, grey-eyed, tattooed chick with straight across bangs and legs for days, and an ass that's difficult not to check ou—fuck!
