Aisha's POV:

I was on my way to the basketball court. "Hi, Aisha. How you been?" Jai Arya. He was a good friend. "Hi. I'm not really having a good day. Join me?" I asked. "Basketball?" He asked, mimicking my accent. "Don't do that," I groaned, chuckling. He laughed. We reached the court and I challenged him to a little game of one-on-one. "I'm in. Loser buys dinner," he replied and I tossed the ball in the air.

We played around for 30 minutes before he shot the winning goal. "I win!!" He cheered, dancing like a maniac. I smiled and said, "I'm buying dinner. What do you want?" trying to stop him from making a fool of himself. "I don't know," he mumbled. "Here we go again," I chuckled. All my friends had a problem with choosing what they wanted to eat. Literally, all of them. "You choose," he said. "As long as you don't deny," I warned. He nodded. "Frankies. Chalo," I said, pulling him with me. He shook his head and laughed. We got them and went to the park and sat down. We started talking about everything. He was always fun to listen to. He had many stories. I was laughing at one of his stories when I saw Darshan enter the park. "Jai, let's go somewhere else. I don't want to deal with Darshan. Please," I whispered, urgently. He nodded. We got up and walked outside with him continuing his story. I chuckled.

Darshan's POV:

I saw Aisha walk out of the park with a guy. She was laughing at something he was saying. I felt a pang of jealousy. I wanted her to myself. I wanted to make her laugh. They did some weird handshake whatchamacallit and she hugged him, smiling. She moved her hands around as if they were making plans to go out. She fanned herself with her hands, pouting with a cute attitude and he chuckled. She waved goodbye and walked away.

Aisha's POV:

I noticed Darshan glaring daggers at Jai. I laughed inwardly. He was jealous. Jai and I planned to go to the coffee shop the next morning. Jai was a great friend.

I walked home. "Aisha!!" I heard someone call. Darshan. I ignored him and continued walking. I couldn't deal with him.

Next Morning...

I met Jai at the coffee shop. We ordered and waited. "Aisha," Jai whispered, suddenly holding my hands across the table and looking into my eyes. I hummed. "I want to tell you something. Promise me you won't freak out," he said, slowly. "Go ahead. I promise I won't freak out," I promised. "We've been friends for years and to me, you're the kinda girl you bring home to meet your parents. The girl you fall in love with. I'm getting there. I like you, Aisha. A lot," he confessed. "Woah. Okay. Can we take some time? Please. Before we start dating. You're awesome, I know. I just need a little while," I pleaded and he nodded. He kissed my cheeks and eyes. I hugged him. "You're ready to wait?" I asked, my eyes moist. "For you. Yeah," he smiled. I hugged him, my head shoved in his chest. He kissed my head.

At Home...

"He likes you? And, he said he'd wait for you?" Tara asked. I nodded, smiling. "He really likes you, Ash," Niu smiled. "I know. I just... I am scared," I sighed. "I know... go on a date. It has been 8 years, Ash. You'll be a great girlfriend," Alisha urged, kissing my forehead. I nodded. I called Jai and asked him to go on a proper date two days later. He agreed and I danced around.

I was moving on. Finally...
