Aisha's POV:
I stepped around the dance room trying to figure out a few steps. "Hi," Darshan said as he entered and I signalled for him to join me.
"Take a break," I said after an hour, walking to my backpack and drinking water. I sat down and closed my eyes. The entire rehearsal was so quiet.
I walked outside and saw Jai leaning on my car, dressed in formals. I smiled and ran to hug him. "Someone looks adorable," I teased, playing with his neck-tie. He laughed and hugged me back and kissed my hair. "What are you doing here? Today is 'I'm gonna sleep without talking to anyone' night," I asked, slapping his arm. "Well, I was on my way back from work and thought I'd come to see you," he smiled. "Let's go home," I said, kissing his lips. He pulled away, nodded and opened the driver's side door. I pushed him to the other side and sat down behind the wheel.
Darshan's POV:
I looked at them. She was so happy. But, I couldn't look at her kiss someone else. Jai. He loved her. I could see it. I was still in love with the same girl and seeing her smile was all I wanted.
Next Rehearsal...
Aisha walked in laughing. I looked at that spark in her eyes. That damn spark!! God, it always made me smile. "Hi, let's get to work. We have to finish the slow dance today. So, please don't step on my toes. Come on. Get up," she said, clapping her hands twice. "Okay. Focus on my feet," she said and we started dancing along to the song. We stepped around the room and I focused on her feet.
"Okay. You got it!! Very good," she smiled and held her hand up for a high-five. I looked at her, shocked and she put her hand down, awkwardly. She walked away and sat down by her backpack. "Why are you so chipper?" I asked. "Well, we had girls' night yesterday. And, I took Jai to brunch this morning. He is so generous," she smiled. My heart burned. She was so happy with him. "What?" She asked. "Nothing, I nice to see you so good to me," I smiled. She nodded and we got back to dancing.
"Bye," she waved and walked out to her car. I saw her leave and walked to my car. I picked up this picture I had of the two of us. It was taken 8 years ago at the water park. It was faded and old and had so many cracks but it held the same amount of memories.
FLASHBACK: 8 YEARS AGO (AISHA'S LAST DAY IN AHMEDABAD)
The doorbell rang and I ran downstairs. Aisha. She was standing there like a stalk, tears streaming down her face. "What?" I asked. She handed me this photograph. I looked at it. Us at the water park. She was dressed in a black halter-top and I was in a black tee. We had our cheeks touching and were making goofy faces. Her hands were wrapped around my neck, pulling me close. "What is this for?" I asked, looking at it. "Um," she started, gulping. "I know you don't love me anymore. But, uh... I want you to remember me. Even if it is just in the picture. Just so you never forget that I love you. So you don't forget that you will always have someone to run back to. Okay? I'm never going to forget you, Dumpling. I am always going to be yours, even when I'm not. Your Aqua. I promise," she said, tears coursing down her face. She walked closer and kissed my forehead, before turning and running off. I looked at the back of the photograph. It said 'Your Ishu- Always and Forever'.
