You Ready?

Chapter 15

I hopped out of the black range rover and smiled back at Luca as I walked away. That boy is going to get me in so much trouble I thought as I stared into his eyes.  

The rain had eased up a bit which was nice, but I still ran into my apartment more because it would've been awkward for Luca.  

When I reached my door I pulled out my phone and texted Katie. 

*Hey Katie want to get coffee tmmr?*

I threw my phone over onto a chair and went to the kitchen to whip something up. I hadn’t eaten anything since I got the call and practically had to leave right then and there. I was basically starving.  

I pulled out some toast and an avocado and turned my t.v. on. I flipped it to the news to see if anything interesting had happened today. 

When I finished my avocado toast I sat down to fully tune into the show.  

“Grand Auto theft,” was displayed in great big letters showcasing the next segment that was going to be up. 

“A group of young men around the age of 20 were suspected in taking part in this felony. The case consisted of occurring at 1:20 A.M. and the police didn’t show up to the scene until hours later. The thieves conducted the act with such precision that the cars have not been seen since.” explained one of the broadcasters. 

I looked at the t.v. with my mouth hanging open. The guys that did that were probably a part of the mafia. What did I get myself into I thought. 

I clicked the show off deciding that I had had enough for one night and checked my phone. 

*Yeah totally!* Katie replied. 

*Cool meet you at the shop a block away from-* 

I stopped mid-text when I heard a loud banging coming from the front of my apartment door. I clutched my phone with all my strength not knowing what to do.  

The banging continued becoming louder and louder until I heard my name being shouted.  

“Arabella open the door now!” They yelled. 

I froze in my spot not knowing how to respond to the situation. I stood there for a while until the banging stopped and I went to go approach the door.  

I was about to look through the peephole when I saw the knob starting to shake and twist. I stepped back, wide eyed as the door was now unlocked.  

The knob slowly turned and the color drained from my face.  

A black shoe stepped through my door and called out my name more patiently this time. 

“Arabella?” the voice asked. 

I didn't say anything. I hid behind my chair as I saw the man come fully into my apartment.  

“Arabella you can come out.” they laughed. 

I slowly peaked my head out from behind the chair and looked up to see none other than Luca.  

“Uhh why are you here?” I asked shakily. How did he even know where my apartment was? I get that they have information on me but this was a lot. If Luca hadn’t been the one there, I prob would have needed a diaper.

“What do you mean?” He responded looking around my apartment with a look of ease.

“Luca you just broke into my apartment! Why are you here?” I asked again. I was starting to get annoyed because this was the one place where I had been safe. My apartment was not mentioned to Luca for a reason.

“Because I needed to see how you would react.” Luca said plainly. 

“So you broke into my apartment like a crazy person to see how I would react?” I said. 

“Uhh yeah did you not hear me or something.” He laughed. 

“Besides, it's to see how I need to train you.” He continued. 

“But did you have to scare the living daylights out of me to find out.” I asked. 

“Yep!” He said. 

“Ok great.” I dragged on. 

“We definitely need to get you in the ring to build up some muscle.” He stated. 

“Alright well can we talk about this later Luca, I'm really tired and I just want to go to bed, it's been a long day.” I explain. I needed to sleep since last night I didn’t get much. 

“Oh yeah I totally understand the princess needs her beauty sleep.” he mocked. 

“Real funny.” I said sarcastically as I pushed him out. 

He turned around and grabbed my wrist forcefully, I winced at the pain that he was causing me. 

“Arabella, you're going to need to fix your door knob.” He laughed as he walked out the door. 

I stayed where I was shocked, that was nowhere near what I was expecting. Well the whole day was crazy to say the least. I went over to the door and assessed the damage that he caused. A couple of the screws were loose but nothing I couldn’t fix. 

I finished fixing the door and picked up my phone and finished texting Katie about coffee and headed straight to bed.
