23: potty mouth

I was sitting on the couch alone since Luke is at school, Indiana is at school, Jack and Celeste are at work, and Zoë is at daycare.

So I was on the couch watching dragon ball z. I heard the door open telling me someone was home.

"Ash?" I heard luke say from the door.

"Yes?" I looked over to him.

"School is over and I came home." he laughed.

I looked at the time and saw it was about 3 pm.

Luke threw his backpack down and pulled up the blanket covering me before sitting underneath.

"Hi." he leant into me.

"Hello, lukey." I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into me more.

"School sucks. I wish I could of just stayed here." he looked up at me.

"I know baby." I kissed his forehead.

"People were teasing me again." He sighed.

"What were they saying?"

"They call me fat, suicidal, faggot, disgusting, dumb, annoying, and other things too." I felt a drop of water on my shirt, before realizing it was Luke's tears.

"Baby. Don't listen to them. None of it is true. You're perfect." I kissed him before his phone started ringing.

He put it on speaker and I saw it was Jack.

"Hey Luke." Jack said.

"Hi."

"I'm not going to be back in time to get Indiana, can you get her?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks. I have I go before I get in trouble. Bye."

There was a beep before luke looked at his phone.

"What time does her school end?" I asked.

"We have to get her at 4." Luke saw the time was 3:30.

"I should probably get changed since you can't drive." I sighed and stood up, placing the blanket on Luke.

I went into our room and put on black jeans and a random shirt, that was Luke's, and shoes before going downstairs.

"It's actually nice out, if we leave now we can walk. It's only like 4 blocks." Luke said.

I nodded and put on a sweat shirt. Luke never took his off so we just left, after locking the door, and headed towards the school.

We arrived and waited for the door to open saying we could get whoever we're picking up.

When it finally opened me and Luke went inside and he led me to Indiana's classroom.

"Hello, who are you here for?" The teacher asked.

"Indiana." Luke said.

"Are you on the release form?"

"Yeah. Her dad is stuck at work. I'm her uncle." Luke looked at Indiana who was talking to her friend.

My phone started ringing and i saw it was Michael.

I picked it up and said a hello before he started talking.

"Ash, oh my god I am a horrible father, can you get Kenzie from school? She started last week and I'm still at work I forgot. Normally Calum would do it if I can't but he's with his parents who are visiting so can you do it?"

"Dude relax. I was with luke picking up indiana, but which class is it?"

"234."

I went down the hall and went into the classroom seeing Kenzie was the only one left.

"Uncle Ash! Where's daddy? Or Cally? They normally come." She said.

"Daddy asked me to pick you up because he's at work still."

"Okay!"

"Hi. I was just going to call her father for someone to pick her up." The teacher came out.

"Yeah he just called me. I was with my boyfriend picking up his niece but I had to pick up mine." I ruffled Kenzie's hair.

"Okay. Just sign her out with your signature." She pointed to the release sheet.

I signed my name and picked up Kenzie before walking back to see Luke talking to the teacher.

"Where did you go?" Luke asked.

"Michael asked me to pick up Kenzie because he forgot." I said.

"But anyways, yeah Indiana was being a trouble maker today. She had a little potty mouth." The teacher laughed.

"Mackenzie did too. We had our joined class reading buddies, and they were paired together and they were saying things that weren't appropriate."

"What did you say?" I looked at Kenzie.

"I asked what dick meant." She shrugged.

"And I asked what fuck meant." Indiana said.

"We need to stop swearing." I mumbled.

"Well I don't think we've met before, I'm Mrs. Brooks." The teacher said.

"I'm Ashton." I said.

"Well I'll let you go now. It was nice meeting you." she said.

I nodded.

Luke smiled and took Indiana's hand.

We walked out together and went back to Jack's house.
