Short chapter cause I didn't have much time today, but I still wanted to post:)

It was the day before the Christmas Party. Hermione, Ron, and I were in the library trying, and desperately failing, to focus on our work. The buzz of the Christmas Party was all around us. The party was invitation-only, and so if someone else wanted to go, they had to make sure someone who was invited would take them.

Harry, Hermione, and I were targets of such students. Hermione initially was going to ask Ron, but with the turn of events, she had to take someone else. Of course, I wanted to go with Edmund, but I wasn't going to go back to him that easily, so I had yet to find someone.

Harry was completely oblivious. As him, Hermione, and I were searching for books, he was waving at someone across the room. The girl was Romilda Vane, a dark curly-haired girl with entrancing eyes and a flirtatious smile.

"I might just take her." Harry mumbled.

"She's planning to make love potions for you Harry, be careful eating things around her. She only wants to go with you because you're the Chosen One." Hermione said.

"But I am the Chosen One." He persisted. Hermione took the book in her hand and whacked Harry in the head with it.

"Okay sorry, I'll take someone else." Harry chuckled. We all turned to return to our table, but I stopped, suddenly having an idea.

"You guys go ahead, I need to look for another book." I told them. After they left, I went straight to the Restricted Section. If Romilda could fill a bunch of muffins with love potion, I could easily do the same but fill it with poison.

And I'd put it in a sealed drink so that nobody could taste it before. And this time, I'll give it through a teacher who knows not to mess with things meant for Dumbledore. As the plan began forming in my mind, I quickly skimmed through, trying to find the right book.

And I didn't notice someone else who was in the aisle.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Newt smiled as he looked over.

"Ah, you know, books here are just so much more interesting." I played it off.

"I wouldn't count 'Poisons and Curses' to be interesting, but I guess you do you." He shrugged, returning to the shelf.

"And why are you here?" I asked.

"I'm trying to find out who tried to curse Dumbledore." He said simply. My breath hitched. If Newt was looking for the culprit, he would surely come close to finding out it was me. "I'm close, I just need that extra push..." He mumbled.

"Well, good that. I'm sure you'll find them." I said, turning to leave. "Wait! Newt...what are you doing tomorrow night?" I asked, another idea springing into my head.

"Um...nothing really...why?" He asked.

"Slughorn's having this Christmas Party, and I was wondering if you wanted to...uh...go with me?" I proposed. His face broke into a grin.

"I'd love to go with you." He smiled.

"Great! Tomorrow at 7:00 I'll meet you in front of the Grand Clock, and then we can go there together." I planned out.

"Sure, I'm looking forward to it." He replied. I smiled, leaving the aisle.

I was walking back to my common room when I heard footsteps behind me.

"Y/N!" I heard Edmund say.

"No Edmund, I'm not going to the party with you." I replied, not bothering to turn back to look at him. I heard the footsteps quicken and then suddenly I was being lifted up.

"Ed put me down!" I exclaimed.

"Not until you agree to go with me." He said, shifting my position so now he held me up bridal style.

"I can't." I answered simply.

"I'm not taking no for an answer." He replied.

"I can't because I'm already going with someone." I said. He finally let me down.

"Who?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"You'll see." I smirked. Edmund opened his mouth and then closed it.

"Time to go kill Tewkesbury." He huffed.

"I'm not going with Tewkesbury." I clarified. Edmund rose an eyebrow.

"Not Tewkesbury...hmmm..." He was now racking his brain, thinking of possible people. I turned on my heel.

"See you later, Ed." I called back, leaving him deep in thought.

---Time Skip to the day of Christmas Party---

After lunch today, the whole time was spent in getting ready for the party. Unlike a ball, a party indicated a different dress code. So instead of wearing long, elaborate gowns, we wore short, glamorous dresses. My makeup was simple, and I curled my hair. My dress was a deep red fabric that had a slight shimmer in its fabric. It sat high on my thighs, hugging my body closely, accentuating my curves.

(Here are just some options, you can choose whichever or a completely different one, it's up to you:)
