---Time Skip to after Holiday Break---

I had the perfect plan now. I had to choose a nice teacher that just wants to dawdle around, isn't too nosy in people's businesses and is close with Dumbledore. I would pour the poison in a bottle of mead, something that I've seen most adults cannot resist.

I would then somehow smuggle it in the teacher's classroom and place it with the bottles already there. The bottle would have a note saying that it was meant for Dumbledore. The teacher would then deliver it. Dumbledore would think of it as a gift and after he drank it he would be...dead within the hour.

But who would I first give it to? McGonagall is too speculating. Snape, no way... I was deep in thought, sitting in the common room at night with Ron and Hermione, when Harry burst through the door.

He had just come from another meeting with Dumbledore. He sat down on the couch. "I've got something to do now." He said. "A task from Dumbledore." Great another task.

"What is it?" Hermione asked, putting down her book.

"So basically, there's this really important memory that we need. It's a conversation between younger Voldemort and Professor Slughorn. But Slughorn has altered the memory so we don't know the truth." He explained.

"So, you need a way to talk to Slughorn?" I asked. He nodded. This would be perfect. I would deliver the bottle through Slughorn. "We can go first thing tomorrow morning, I'll come with." I said.

Harry looked over and smiled. "Thanks for the support Y/N." It felt horrible to deceive him like that. But for now, I had to get everything ready. I excused myself to go sleep and went upstairs. They continued talking about the mysterious "Half Blood Prince" that was the author of the potions book Harry had, and the one behind Harry's success in the class.

Hermione didn't trust the book and she wanted Harry to show it to McGonagall. Harry was just glad that he was finally doing well in potions. He was also learning new spells, such as "Levicorpus" through which he made Ron levitate the other night.

I had already made the poison over break, I just needed to add it to the bottle and seal it up again. Once it was ready, I hid it under by bed. My plan was forming perfectly...and I wasn't too happy about it.

---

I woke the next morning with anticipation in my stomach. I wore my big puffy coat, in which I could easily hide the bottle. I met up with Harry downstairs and gave him an encouraging smile. We walked to Slughorn's office and knocked.

Once looking at Harry, he was more than happy to let us in to talk. Harry first off started buttering Slughorn up. Complimenting him and his work. I walked around, asking intriguing questions about things he had around his office.

But while looking around, I tried looking for a perfect place to keep the bottle. Slughorn's and Harry's voices muffled in the background. I found a shelf with other bottles. I took mine out and started to place it on the shelf along the other bottles.

"Y/N!" Slughorn's voice cut through the air. I stopped what I was doing and froze, my heart beating. He came up to me, taking the bottle from my hand. "You're underage, you shouldn't be dawdling over here." He explained.

"Yes, Professor, I-I was just intrigued as I saw Dumbledore's name on this bottle." I said. It was better to make it look like we both discovered it together, it would raise less suspicion that I had anything to do with it.

"Ah yes...it does...I don't remember...hmm I reckon I bought this bottle a while ago to give it to Dumbledore...worry not, I'll ensure it gets to him." Slughorn mumbled. I smiled innocently. He did my work for me, already made up my excuse.

"Now I urge both of you to leave." He said, gently pushing me towards the door, a certain harshness in his voice towards Harry.

"But sir-" Harry tried.

"Nope nope, I've got plenty of work to do." Slughorn said, closing the door behind us.

"Any luck?" I asked. Harry shook his head. We walked back to the common room. At least one thing had gone right today. We came into the common room that was bustling around a poster on the wall. Ron came out of the crowd.

"Apparition classes today!" He beamed. I know he wanted to learn how to apparate badly. I was pretty excited too. The only time I had apparated was out of the Ministry. The feeling wasn't too great but imagine teleporting to anywhere in the world.

---

A bunch of students gathered in the Great Hall to learn apparating. The long table were gone, and the room had a bunch of circles on the ground. Everyone stood near their circles. We were taught the three rules of apparating: Destination, Determination and Deliberation.

We were all told to position ourselves outside the circle, and then apparate to the circle. We were warned of splinching, which I felt hurt a lot. As the crowd began practicing, I was still hesitant.

"C'mon you got this." I heard Edmund's voice.

"You do it then if you're so confident." I crossed my arms. Edmund smirked. Then in a wave of wind he seemed to be sucked into nothing. He reappeared inside the circle.

"Did you forget who brought you out from the Ministry?" Edmund whispered. I rolled my eyes, then concentrated on the circle. You got this, I thought to myself. I thought about it and spun, but then stopped myself, fear taking over once more.

"Here, let's do the first couple together." Edmund said as he moved towards me. He gripped my waist. "Ready?" He asked. I nodded. He counted down and I felt myself being sucked, as if pulled through a small tube. But the uneasiness didn't last long as we reappeared inside the circle.

"Wow-" I started but then Edmund apparated again, back outside the circle. I stumbled.

"Whoa, let me know before you do that." I said, bracing my stomach.

"Now you try." He said, stepping away. Now that I knew what to expect and how to do it, I felt more confident. My focus sharpened to inside the circle. I spun, confident that I was going to apparate. I felt the same weird feeling for a second and then I was back.

I kept my eyes closed, slowly scanning my body to make sure I didn't splinch.

"Oh my god...Y/N... your arm." Edmund's grave voice sounded.

"What happened?" I whimpered, not moving an inch.

"You left half of it in the process." He said. I slowly opened my eyes, expecting a blood mess. But instead, I found both my arms, and the rest of my body, perfectly fine.

"Ed! You scared me there!" I pushed Edmund away playfully. He laughed.

"Hey at least you can apparate anywhere now, let's go to Hogsmeade." Edmund said. Hermione came up to us, her eyebrows missing and her hair a mess.

"Haven't you read "Hogwarts: A History"? You can't apparate in and out of Hogwarts." She mumbled. I tried to contain my laughter.

"Hermione...you've got a little...situation." I told her. She raised her fingers to her forehead where I was pointing.

"Holy cricket!" She exclaimed, running off.
