The next morning, Newt and Ron ventured out to gather information while Harry, Hermione, and I packed and readied everything at the house. We also looked around the house to see if there was anything extra we could take.

I was upstairs, rummaging in some boxes when I heard a scream downstairs. Both Ron and I stumbled down the steps to make sure Hermione was alright. We saw her pointing her wand to a house elf on the table.

"Kreacher..." Harry mumbled.

"Who?" I asked, raising my wand as well.

"It was Sirius' house elf. Don't worry he won't hurt you." Harry motioned us to put down the wands and then looked at the elf. "Been spying on us, have you?"

"Kreacher has been... watching. Kreacher always watches." The house elf mumbled. Hermione gasped.

"Maybe he knows!" She motioned to Harry. I was still confused but I watched as Harry pulled out a locket.

"Ever seen this before?" Harry asked. Kreacher grumbled incoherently. "Kreacher, I own this place. Sirius left it to me. Which means I own you too."

"That was Master Regulus' locket." Kreacher finally gave in.

"That's right. But there were two, weren't there?" Harry kept going. Kreacher's eyes widened in surprise. He nodded again. "Where's the other one?"

"Kreacher doesn't know where the other locket is." He replied.

"But was it here? Did you ever see it?" I ask.

"Yes. It was here, in this house. A most evil object..." Kreacher mumbled. " Before he died, Master Regulus ordered Kreacher to destroy it. It was the last thing he asked of Kreacher. But no matter how Kreacher tried, he could not..."

"Where is it now? Did someone take it, Kreacher?" I asked. He nodded.

"He came in the night. He took many things, including the locket." Kreacher explained.

"Who, Kreacher? Who was it?" Harry asked.

"Mundungus. Mundungus Fletcher."

We all glanced at one another, then Harry turns back to Kreacher, looking him in the eye.

"Find him."

---

It was now nighttime and there was no sign of Kreacher. However, Newt and Ron had returned, with a list of people that we could target the next day. Our plan was slowly coming together. CRACK!

That sound could only mean one thing. We rushed to the dining room where we saw...Dobby? But then Kreacher came as well, taking a hold on another person. "Expelliarmus!" I shouted quickly, leaving Mundungus unprotected.

"As requested, Kreacher has returned with the thief Mundungus Fletcher!" Kreacher said.

"Dobby has also returned with the thief Mundungus Fletcher!" Dobby bowed.

"What are you playing at? Setting a pair of bleedin' 'ouse-elves on me!" Mundungus panted.

"Dobby was only trying to help! Dobby saw Kreacher in Diagon Alley, which Dobby thought was curious. And then Dobby heard Kreacher mention Harry Potter's name, which Dobby thought was very curious. And then Dobby saw that Kreacher was talking to the thief Mundungus Fletcher, which Dobby thought was very, very-" Dobby started to explain.

"I'm no thief, you foul little git. I'm a purveyor of rare and wondrous objects-" Mundungus began.

"-You're a thief, Dung. Everyone knows it." Newt said flat out.

"When you turned this place over, don't deny it! - you found a locket, am I right?" Harry asked.

"Why? Was it valuable?" Dung asked.

"You've still got it." Hermione stated.

"No. He's worried he should have got more money for it." I rolled my eyes.

"Wouldn't be difficult, would it? Bleedin' gave it away, din' I? There I was, pitching me wares in Diagon Alley when some ministry hag comes up and asks to see my license. Says she's of a mind to lock me up and would've, too, she hadn' taken a fancy to that locket." Dung explained.

"Who was she? This witch?" Newt asked. Dung picked up the Daily Prophet on the table.

"Well, she's right there, in't she?Bleedin' bow an' all." He said, pointing to a picture of Dolores Umbridge.

This made our mission to the Ministry all the more important. It gave us a purpose. We were now more prepared than ever to infiltrate it. We let Dung go. He had been as much useful as he could have been. Now all we had to do was wait until the morning.

----

We were out of the house early in the morning. Kreacher had been thankful enough that he had made us warm breakfast. Hermione had her polyjuice potion ready. We apparated to one of the entrances of the Ministry. Newt and Ron eyed the people, looking for the familiar faces.

"Stay here." Newt said as he and Ron went out from the hiding spot. Soon enough they were dragging 5 bodies behind the corner to where we were.

Hermione plucked out the hairs and added it to 4 cups.

"Right. So let's do it. Who gets who?" Ron asked.

"Well, unless one of you fancies wearing a skirt..." I leaned down, taking the cup from one of the witches. Hermione followed the same with the other witch. Newt picked up another cup. "Careful, that's her husband." Ron said, pointing at the witch I was disguising as.

"That's fine, they already bicker like an old married couple sometimes." Harry joked taking another cup.

"Remember what we said. Keep your eyes down. Don't speak to anyone unless absolutely necessary." Newt reminded us.

"Act as normal as possible. Just do what you see everyone else doing. We do that, and with a bit of luck, we get ourselves inside. And then..." I nodded.

"It gets really tricky." Newt finished

"Correct." Harry said.

"This is completely mental." Ron finished.

"Completely, utterly, without question." Newt agreed

"The world's mental. Come on, drink up. We've got a Horcrux to find." I said. We all gagged as the liquid sloshed down our throat. It almost burned as it went through. I clenched my eyes as I felt my skin bubble. I slowly started transforming. When I opened my eyes, I couldn't recognize anyone.

"Right then, let's do this." And with those final words of encouragement, one by one, we turned the corner to infiltrate the Ministry.
