*cough* Again *cough*
Well things had gone differently than Cricket expected. Wasp was gone, but someone else had become queen. Queen Hornet which was ironic since they had just beaten Queen Wasp.
Hornet was worse. No more mind-control-dragons at least, and anyone could apply for marriage-Swordtail and Luna, Katydid and Malachite, and Tau and Treehopper. .
Cricket was miserable. She had gotten Bombardier. He had applied for it-behind her back if she must say- and well, gotten approved. Bumblebee was now officially her daughter. But Hornet was queen of the SilkWings as well.
And Blue was paired with someone else.
~*Blue*~
Blue lay down in his room with a sigh, not able to get Cricket out of his mind. He didn't even know who Mint was! And now she was supposed to be his mate!? WHAT?! He and Cricket had talked for hours about who they were paired with. He had never seen her more upset in his life.
This is basically what happened.
*Flashback*
A dragon knocked on his door, tears streaming from her face. Blue opened the door and instantly recognized her golden-tangerine scales with splotches of black immediately. Rain pattered against her scales.
"Cricket?" He asked, confused. She looked up at him and he saw her expression and whispered. "Come in."
Cricket followed him inside, still crying.
"Cricket?" Blue asked gently. "What happened?"
"Remember the dragon I told you a-about?" She whimpered, leaning against his cool scales. "Bombardier." And of course he did. He remembered when he first met her and- "Well-" She buried her head in his neck, sobbing harder.
He wrapped his wings around her, confused. What happened? He pressed his snout to her forehead and she let out a shuddering sigh and pulled away, wiping her tears away.
"Blue, he requested a pairing." She said quietly. His eyes widened. NO! His mind yelled abruptly. Please don't be what I'm thinking she means. "And Hornet said yes-" She was now sobbing again.
"Why would he do this?" She cried. "I didn't-I don't even want to be with him!" Blue shook his head. "I don't know." She looked up at his face. "Blue you know-" She trailed off. "There's nothing I can do..." She said softly.
He gently brushed his snout against her cheek. "I'm here for you if you ever need me." He said reassuringly. She nodded into his shoulder with a sniff.
"I love you."
*Back to the present.*
Mint walked into his room. He tried to ignore her but she came to sit beside him. "I know you didn't want to be-well-together, but we're here now-and I want to make it work." He looked away feeling a small sense of disgust. She wouldn't understand.
Mint let out a sigh and lay next to him. He stiffened. Get away from me. His mind growled. "I know you care for that-HiveWing, but you need to move on." She said, getting frustrated.
Mint was a white SilkWing with light green fades on her talons, tail, wings, antennae, and spikes. She had green eyes and wasn't ugly, but Blue loved someone else and she knew it.
"Wasn't she paired with someone too?" Mint asked. He nodded slowly with a sigh. "Can we at least get along?"
He sighed. "I know I've been unfair to you, and I know we have to at least try to get along, but I'm in love with someone else, and I can never grow to love you as much." He warned.
