Cricket stared blankly at the space in front of her. It's all my fault Blue's controlled, She thought with a sudden surge of despair. Willow had tried to cheer Cricket up, but Cricket was depressed. She hated herself for allowing Blue to be controlled by the Breath of Evil. She tried not to think about Luna's expression when she thought she'd get to see her little brother and boyfriend- Cricket shuddered, not being able to forget that horrible moment of guilt.
A few days earlier...
Cricket felt her heart being torn into pieces. One of those pieces were with Blue. The other piece wanted to go to the other continent...but at the same time Cricket didn't know how she could bear to be away from Blue. Even the ocean reminded Cricket of the beauty of Blue's beautiful scales and wings. Everywhere she looked, she could only think of that beautiful dragon she loved. The dragons stopped to rest at a few islands, following the map's guide to Phyrria. Finally Cricket's talons touched the ground. Is this...snow? Cricket thought, awe and overwhelming excitement floods the HiveWing.
*Skip to when they find Luna*
"Blue! Swordtail!" Luna yelled, rushing to the group.
Cricket stared at her talons, wondering how to explain to Blue's sister what had happened on Pantala.
"Where's Swordtail and my brother?" Luna said, quieter now, as if she realized something was wrong. Cricket didn't have the heart to tell her.
Willow spoke in a sad tone, "I'm sorry-Blue and Swordtail- the Othermind got them."
Luna froze. Cricket couldn't describe the horror and shock on Luna's face.
"You." Luna said to the HiveWing, her tone held no pity or mercy in it at all.
"You. Did. This." She said in an ice cold voice.
"You are the reason the dragons I love are gone." Luna accused.
"B-but-" Cricket tried to protest, but Luna interrupted, "I knew we shouldn't have trusted you! I should've known!" Luna growled.
"HiveWings can't be trusted."
She took a step towards Cricket, and at that moment Cricket realized the angry flamesilk could actually and would actually hurt her-
"Stop!" Sundew hissed.
"Cricket has helped us," she growled, "You can't blame her for something she didn't do." Luna backed off, still growling and cursed under her breath.
Present time
Now Cricket was curled in her nest, her nose buried in her soft makeshift nest. Tears stained her snout. Luna's right, it is my fault. She sobbed harder, burying her head deeper into her nest.
"Cricket?"
A soft, accented voice said. Cricket turned to look at her. Willow was standing by her nest, sympathy in her eyes.
"Come with me."
Wiping her tears, Cricket followed the Leafwing. The Leafwing led her outside, the moon shining on her green scales.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Willow asked gently.
"It might make you feel better."
Cricket nodded, barley trusting her voice.
