Warning, this is more of an action chapter.

"They'll kill them all!" Cricket exclaimed, waving a shocked talon in the air, her warm eyes widened.

"It's genocide!"

Even Blue. She thought with despair. Willow shook her head.

"There's nothing I can do Cricket, I'm sorry." The quiet LeafWing said apologetically, her gaze deeply saddened.

Cricket paced around the cave, thoughts whipping past her head in a flurry of sudden thoughts.

"How would you feel if Sundew was controlled, and you found out that the tribes were going to war with the HiveWings? They're going to kill Blue, Willow, and Swordtail!" She added quickly.

Willow buried her head in her talons with a groan, wishing all of this could end. She hated this war.

"I know Cricket, I wish I could do something."

Hot tears rolled down Cricket's cheeks. Katydid too, they'll kill her too.

"Good riddance." She heard Sundew mutter under her breath, sorting her pouches at the end of the cave, her tail whipping back and forth irritably.

Willow ignored her, resting a talon softly onto Cricket's shoulder.

"It's going to be okay, I promise."

Moon landed, Qibli at her side, her wings held plastered to her side.

"Queen Glory and Queen Thorn are ready." Qibli acknowledged to Sundew. The LeafWing nodded, her gaze cold.

"Good, we need all the help we can get."

Bumblebee clung to Cricket's chest. Cricket hugged the dragonet reassuringly, hoping Bumblebee would stay safe.

Luna and Io sat up.

"What about Swordtail and Blue? We can't risk hurting them too."

Cricket nodded in agreement.

Qibli shrugged. "There's not much I can do about them." He said, then, seeing the look on their faces, quickly added.

"I'm sure everyone will know not to hurt them...too badly."

Moon smiled at them. "Get some rest, tomorrow will be a crazy day."

Cricket surrendered, resting her head on her talons. She missed Blue. At least I'll get to see him...even if we are on different sides. Cricket's eyelids closed and she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

She awoke to someone shoving her awake. Sundew. Cricket opened her eyes groggily, and yawned.

"Come on," Sundew growled.

Cricket got up to her feet, stretching her wings quickly before following the LeafWing to the battle ground. My home, She thought sadly. Cicada Hive had fallen the day before. She didn't want to know who did it, but she could see the remains of the once beautiful hive, now broken on the ground, as if it were nothing but an obstacle in their way. Tree-stuff lay scattered across the landscape, dying flames flickered across several more minor parts of the once great hive. She couldn't stop the sudden surge of anger rising. Not at the HiveWings, but at the LeafWings. She pushed that thought down, following Sundew and trying not to think too much.

The other tribes had gathered. Cricket could see the RainWing and NightWing army first, Deathbringer instructing them on what to do, marching through the lanes, Tsunami helping him criticize them. She saw the MudWing army next. She recognized Sora and Umber with their siblings, and Clay, anxiously shuffling his talons. Sundew was arguing with Tsunami now, which wasn't a surprise. Queen Snowfall was with Winter, who was talking with Qibli and Moon in hushed voices, occasionally shooting Cricket dirty looks. She was used to that by now. It still hurt though. Moon was with her mother, Secretkeeper. The older dragon had her wings wrapped around Moon in an everlasting hug.
