****

Ever since that day Shianne found me, things had changed. She never left, she kept me locked in the house, and asked me questions every day. She was like an alien to me. She wouldn't leave me alone. If we ran out of food, we'd both go to the store to get it. I swear, my life has comepletely changed. I could barely eat without her hovering over me.

"Mornin'," she hugged me, coming down the stairs.

"Hey," I hugged her back.

"How'd you sleep?" she asked.

"Fine," I shrugged. "Shianne, nothing's really changed. You don't have to...be like this."

"Like what?" she asked.

"You're acting like a mom should," I said calmly. "I just need a sister."

She looked down and let out a huge breath. "I'm not acting like a mom."

"You kinda are," I said. "But please... It's all okay now."

She shook her head. "I can't believe you'd say that."

"Well, it is! It's happened multiple times, and I'm still me!"

"You're not still you!" she looked at me.

"Not in your eyes! This is why I didn't say anything! I was scared that people would treat me different, look at me different... I don't want that! You need to treat me like nothing's happened, Shianne! Why can't you do that for me?! Go to David's every day again. Do what you normally do! I'm begging here!"

Shianne just stood there, wanting to cry. "I understand that's what you're thinking. But... I think you need help."

"No!" I snapped.

"Yes, Kourt," she looked at me.

"No, Shianne," I hissed. "I can't go to a therapist about this."

"I know it must be hard, but you gotta just try and you'll move on," she held my shoulders.

"I'm gonna move on, okay? I don't need counseling! Just leave me alone!" I walked out the house and ran as far as my tiny feet would take me. I decided to call Jack.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked.

"Will you open your front door?" I asked, stopping at his house.

He did and walked to me. "Are you okay?"

"I need a place to stay," I breathed and he led me into his house.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"Stuff," I shrugged. "If Shianne shows up, I'm not here."

"Ah, sister fight," he said.

"You wouldn't understand," I rolled my eyes. I didn't tell Jack about what happened.

"Well, I'll always be here for you," he kissed my head.

"You always seem to know what to say," I laid my head on his shoulder.

He petted my hair and kissed my head again. I looked up at him and he kissed me lightly.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why--"

I kissed him again, practically sitting in his lap.

"Are you sure you're okay?" he laughed.

I just nodded and held him close to me. I was perfectlly fine.
