I woke up and everyone else was sleeping. I looked at the time and it was 8:00. I've always hated waking up early. I wasn't sure why, but I never liked to wake up early. I grabbed my phone, and I had a text from Jack--yes, I stole Jack's number. I had to make sure he wouldn't hurt my little sister.
He said: Hey, Shi, Kourt wont respond 2 my texts. She ok??
Me: She's sleeping
Him: She hazn't talked 2 me in 2 days.
I sat there and pondered that. If this was day 2, then that meant she didn't talk to him yesterday. And yesterday was a rough day for all of us. But then I remembered that she had been texting him on the way to Main Event yesterday. So she had texted him, but she probably didn't feel like talking to anyone after that whole ordeal with Raine and how William almost violated her.
So, I sent: She'll text you later.
David called me a few minutes later. I walked out the room and answered it.
"Hey, babe," I smiled.
"Hey, watcha doin'?" he asked.
"I'm at a sleepover--I told you that yesterday," I laughed.
"Right. Hey, why don't you take a break from the sleepover and come visit me? I miss you," he said.
"I miss you, too, but I can't leave. It's Sunday, anyway. I'll come see you when I leave," I said.
"Fine..." he gave in. "How are you?"
"Oh," I laughed, shocked at the question. "I'm fine. Rough night last night, but I'm fine. And you?"
"I'll be better once I see you," he said.
"Shianne?" Angel asked, walking out of the room.
"Hey, I'll call you back," I said hanging up. I looked at Angel. "Yeah?"
"Did um... Kourtney had a nightmare last night. I would've talked to her, but as soon as I woke up, she had gone back to sleep. Uh... Did she experience anything similar to what happened with Raine?" she asked.
"What? No," I shook my head. "She couldn't have. I'm pretty sure she would've told me."
"Raine didn't," she said.
I looked in her eyes. "Look. Last night was traumatic for all of us--mostly Raine. I'm surprised I didn't have a nightmare about it happening to me, and I'm even more surprised that Raine didn't relive it."
"I'm sorry," she looked down. "I just... She cried for five minutes. Does it really take five minutes to get over a nightmare?"
I breathed. "Just let everyone wake up, okay?"
She walked off. I shook my head and looked down. There was no way Kourtney could've experienced that. I would've known. She would've told something to someone. I tried to shake it off, but Angel had the possibility stuck in my head. I peeked back in the room, and Kourtney was lying in her sleeping bag, controling her breath.
Something she only did when she was upset about something serious.
Raine was awake, too. She walked past me, trying to smile. I sat in front of Kourtney, to see if she was okay. I could tell by the look in her eyes, that her mind wasn't here. She was lost in her mind, thinking about something horrible. Her mint-green eyes were filled with tears, begging to escape.
