Ep.8

What had happened? I couldn't remember anything. Why was I in a hospital? And with Yoon-gi too?

I felt a light heartache as I tried to get up. Yoon-gi rushed to help me adjust the uncomfortable pillow. He put his hands around my waist, pulling me closer to him then laying me down carefully.

"You finally woke up." - he politely said.

"What happened? Why am I here?"

"You had a heart attack in the fencing class, caused by lack of food and stress. You have been here for a while now. The doctor said it isn't something to take lightly so you should stay here for a few days. I also bought you medications for stress. Be more careful next time!" - he explained gently.

I recalled beating the fencing teacher in a match, then I remembered feeling a hard stroke right through my chest. Was the teacher really Yoon-gi? From the things Nam-joon told me, Yoon-gi isn't the caring type and mostly likes living outside the palace.

"Did Jin tell you about me?" - I said.

"Yes. You are his soon-to-be wife, aren't you? Jin was here a minute before but he had to finish some work so he left."

"Thank god! I don't want him near my sight anymore! That jerk doesn't deserve me as a wife... Would you like me to become yours? I really can't stand him, so I would rather anyone else. You'll become the king, too. It's a win-win situation!"

"Hahaha- I can't just do that. He is my brother after all." - he said flustered.

"He is my brother" - I said in a mocking tone, -

"You are all the same! Nam-joon said that too"

"I guess it runs in the royal family's blood.
Look Jin might look like a dick at the beginning, but he is a great person."

"I don't think so..."

*especially after what he said to me*

"Anyways, I can't stand it here! Let's go eat somewhere else."

"B-but the doctor sai-"

"I don't care what the doctor said! I will eventually die if I stay here for more then 1 second either way. I know a good place which serves the best spicy tteokbokki. What do you think?"

"Sure I guess. Let's go!" - he said.

I quickly got up, grabbed Yoon-gi by his arm and dragged him out of the hospital. He lent me his arm so I could walk better. I could see him getting a little flustered, but he was trying his best not to show it.

I took Yoon-gi to my favorite tteokbokki place where I used to go with Jackie...I was so focused on learning the brothers name and personality, that I completely forgot about Jakie. I wondered what he was doing as we entered the place. I was sure we would meet again one day...

We sat on my favorite table next to the left
corner, where most of the decorations are. I stayed without talking for a little. The place was feeling uneasy...

"So do you like tteokbokki? I used to work here as a part-timer, but the food has always been delicious." - I expressed trying to break the ice.

"Why did you work as a part-timer? Was it because of your father?" - he said.

That made the place even more uneasy...

"Well, basically yeah! Dad always called me a pain in the ass, like I was his burden. So I started saving my own money by working. That way I became more independent towards him. You see I never had a nice father-daughter bonding, so one day I just decided to leave my house. That's when your brother found me."

"I can say I never had a strong bond with my father either. He used to be genuinely busy with work, leaving me and my brothers to the maids' care."

"Ok-ok! Stop with the sad talk. Let's order already!"

We ordered spicy tteokbokki and some soju drinks too. Although he didn't let me drink because I was on my medication, I took a sip or two when he wasn't looking. We spend the couple of hours talking. I felt more comfortable with him. He seemed to enjoy my presence, and I absolutely enjoyed his. He was such a-down-to-earth guy. Yoon-gi has lived outside of the palace for some time too. I guess we could relate to each other's problems that's why we got along so well.

Yoon-gi had a fencing class, so we had to leave early. As we head outside, the tiniest snowflake fell in my hand. It looked so angelic and pretty. We watched as the snow was clothing the dry ground, making it look pure and lovely. It was cleansing everything from their wrongdoings. I felt cold on the outside, but inside there was this undying fire that warmed me back up.

"It has been long since it snowed this heavily!"

"It's so beautiful! I don't think we can go to the palace without an umbrella. Let me borrow one from the restaurant."

I came back with a see-through umbrella. The sound of snow falling on it was so pleasant. Yoon-gi got closer to me as we shared the umbrella together. I felt secure next to him. It was truly quiet and peaceful. That's when a loud motorbike noise kicked in. It was coming our way faster and faster. Yoon-gi pulled me towards him, holding me in his arms. The motorbike stopped a couple meters away from us. The biker took off his helmet as he watched us hug...
